Sometimes cats ask me “Yo Drasar you should submit beats to so and so”, but what they don’t realize is that I was never really into the whole submit tracks steez..WHY ?

1..I have been rhyming, Dj’ing and making beats since a youth – why would I submit tracks to dudes that aren’t really proficient with their bar game ? If I can out rhyme you with the greatest of ease – why would I send you joints ?

2..To be honest I need to be in the studio while the rhymes are being laid down..E-mail collabs never inticed me very much…

3..Sometimes dudes try to rearrange and reformat your shit and I’m not down with all that…The beat is sequenced the way it is for a reason..

With that being said – a few years back the LO – LIFE affiliated crew GERMAN REGIME caught a little wreck over one of my joints…They blessed the mic with tales of revenge killings, dedication to POLO, set ups, and all that other grizzly shit that makes for a interesting listen…My only complaint is the scratch sentences at the end of the song (which could have been executed a little better, I had nothing to do with that aspect)….

So I have to give dap to the HIERO crew for being able to still function as a unit in 2017…Not only are these dudes functioning they are truly thriving with numerous businesses, an official HIERO DAY in the city of Oakland, world tours, a label, a facility in the depths of East Oakland (Which I have been to), infamous merch, a internationally recognized logo, clothing lines, collabos with Converse, FLUD, Nike and all types of other shit that is mind boggling on many levels…Regardless of how you might feel about their current musical output (Which I understand to some degree) – I have respect for them and somewhat admire cats that started with a major deal in 93 and still rock nonstop in 2017 on their own terms…

Back with a surprise release, The Artifacts are well intact with their latest single, “Left In My Dust”. In true New Jersey fashion, the dynamite MC duo of Tame One and El Da Sensei have joined forces with fellow Jersey vet, K-Def handling production.

With a collective back catalog of hip-hop gems dating back to the early 90s, the trio comfortably rejuvenates the spirit of the past in this 7” single. Thanks to the vintage 90s era production by K-Def, this is certain to delight fans of Artifacts’ earlier work.
