” Hip Hop Treats “

Picture 3

WHEW…

Yeah these joints are calling my name….

“In an era where most things have become cliché and cookie cutter with a one size / style fits all mentality there are still those that believe in creating quality handmade personalized items. Similar to a Savile Row custom suit maker who tailors the suit to your personal likings and measurements, DJ King Otto has started building his own line of custom 45 boxes simply titled, The Ottbox. Yes, there have been those who have made boxes before him, the same way that DJ’s built speakers in the past but how many of them went on to create great speaker companies? The Ottbox is made of pressure treated wood that can be stained, laminated and covered in a variety of outer treatments. The inside as well can be lined in various fabrics and patterns, from suede to leather, camouflage to polka dots. The Ottbox can also be designed to fit a varied amount of 45’s, weather your doing a guest DJ set and only need to carry 50 or if you’re holding down the entire night for yourself and need to take 150.”

” Let The Beats Rock “

Picture 2

A man and his machine ! Beats from DJ CUTT (Constant Deviants) straight from the legendary Akai S950 sampler ..

“The S900 sampler was Akai’s first truly professional sampler, released in 1986. Its sampling specifications were pro-quality at the time: 12-bit stereo sampling, 7.5kHz to 40kHz variable sampling rates and a maximum of 63 seconds of sample time at 7.5kHz. Up to 32 samples can be created and stored to disk along with any edit settings. This was one of the first rack-mount samplers to use a built-in disk drive. Although the drive could load sounds while you play, it was still a very slow process.

Editing and programming the S900 was a very good precursor to the advanced S3000 series.

The S950 soon followed the S900 and offered increased memory and sampling rates. The sample rate was now variable from 7.5 to 48kHz and it could hold up to 99 samples in memory. Memory could be expanded from 750KB to 2.25MB.”

” Lord Finesse : Cratery 71 “

Picture 3

Check out the latest episode of CRATERY (Arcee, Kaewonder, and Serious) with LORD FINESSE……Please do not sleep…

“On his favourite DITC productions:

Showbiz:
“Still Diggin” is one of my fave Show joints [sings horn loop]. “Fat Pockets” remix too. Classic.

Diamond D:
I’mma say that Alkaholiks remix for “Next Level”. That was different than the other Diamond stuff that was out at the time. That one stuck out to me.

Buckwild:
It’s a tie. I gotta say “Masta IC” Mic Geronimo”. How he put it together that was just abstract – from the drums to the loop. But I love how he hooked up that Organized Konfusion joint “Why” too. So I gotta mention that.

On the potential for an upcoming Lord Finesse album:

Hopefully later this year. Maybe Fall/Winter. I’m not a summer dude. I want everyone locked in the house listening. I done went through beats. I got like 4 joints solidified. But I don’t think I’ve done my best work yet. I’m just developing a sound right now. I’m taking my time. I don’t care about clubs, radio, I just care about making something that can compete.

Here then, is our Cratery episode with the one and only Lord Finesse.”
