‘ Philly Hardcore "

I have a soft spot for Philly Hip Hop…….Schoolly D, 3XDope, Tuff Crew, Freshco and Miz, Steady B, Cash Money and Marvelous Marv, and so many others put the smash down……Tuff Crew is one of my favorites, that rarely get talked about…….L.A. Kid, Ice Dog, Tone Love, Monty G, D.J. 2 Tuff put out 4 albums…………The song I posted is called “Let it Rip” it came out in 1988, and it is a accurate recording of my favorite era in Hip Hop……”The Hardrock Era”……Loud drums, heavy scratching, yelling on the mic, synchronized crew chants, and plenty of bass…..Those were the days………..Tuff Crew had a reunion in Philly last year, and I would love to hear what they sound like now……..
‘ Sucka Of The Week, " The Game….

Instead of dissing motherfuckers all the time, I like to big up the music I do like and appreciate……Anyone can gossip and talk reckless about people……..Anyone…….That’s why only once a week do I call someone out and pop blogshots at them……This week is a easy target for sure……Drumroll please……..Mr. Butterfly Tatoo, Sir Change of Heart, M.C. Name Dropper, I’m talking about Game folks…..Oh, I mean The Game…..HaHa…….What a fuckin cry baby…..Wimpering about how he is a misplaced Hip Hoppper born in the wrong era……Get the fuck outta here……Crocodile tears, falling from someone who is helping fuck shit up……I don’t buy it……..Check 4 yourself below, and get your tissues ready…………
" Insight "

Boston’s Insight, has slowly built up a quality catalogue of fresh material…….He has produced for Mr Lif, Opio, Damu, Dagha, T Rukus, and many more…..The first time I heard his music was the ‘Scum Live’ 12 inch { above pic }…..If you do not have that record, I suggest you find it fast…….Anyway, in the beginning of 08 he released a new album with Damu entitled “Y Society’……….The song I posted up is called “Off and On”……… I forgot to mention he makes his own beats, rhymes, mixes, and engineers all of his own shit?………..Peep
" Won’t Give A Fuck "
Something about this record “Ruthless Villain”, makes me want to drop kick somebody…….The energy off this record is out of control…….Even though this is Eazy E’s record, M.C Ren handles the bulk of the rhymes………Handle isn’t a accurate description, how about dismantles the rhymes……..Few mc’s can sound this menacing, funky, and flavorful at the same time………….The production by Dr.Dre has managed to age very well……..Angry breaks, give way to interesting changes and turns…….Intricate drum composition, punctuated with heavy bass stabs…….Dope……….Rest In Peace, Eric {Eazy E} Wright……..Your sense of humor, changed my life………..
"Critical Beatdowns"

When it comes to Hip Hop journalism, the majority of fools approach it like the associated press…Who, what, when, why, how?………That format is very corny, and sterile when it comes to getting critical, investigative information……….Hip Hop journalism {in my opinion} is at it’s best when the actual participants {artist} give their point of view……….That’s why this book “Making Beats”, is a keeper…….The writer { Joseph Schloss} hits up various producers Vitamin D, Jake One, Supreme, Soulman, Specs, Kool Akiem, etc, with descent questions and allows them to speak their minds freely…………..The only problem I have with the book is that he focuses mainly on Pacific north western producers………..If he would have interviewed a wider spectrum of producers, the book would have a better balance………………..Check 4 it……5000
"Truth Be Told"

Black Dot is no joke……I appreciate how he expresses his views….He doesn’t speak over your head with a bunch of unneccesary big words, but he doesn’t dumb down his word play either………In the Hip Hop world today he is a minority, someone who speaks the truth with no apologies……..Cop his book “Hip Hop Decoded”, or one of his many d.v.d. lectures………You Tube clip below…..Out…..
"Beef Rap" Remix Edition

In 1999″ L.P.” {Not Co-Flow L.P.} released a diss record called the “Truth”……He calls out everyone who was popular at the time Snoop, Foxy Brown. DMX, Coolio, Onyx, Camron, etc……The original was produced by “King Shameek”, of “Hollywood Impact/Twin Hype” fame………I decided to remix it and give it my own dusty twist…………I wonder whatever happened to this dude?
Likwit Crew General

When it comes to west coast Hip Hop , you can’t mention Compton without saying King T…….His work with legendary D.J. Pooh, set a new standard on the west…..From ‘Act A Fool” , to “At Your Own Risk”, to “The Triflin Album”, to his work with the “Liks”, T always showed versatility over dope, sample heavy beats……He helped start the careers of the Liks, Xzibit, Madlib, Defari and even signed to “Aftermath’ for a brief period…..I am still waiting for a ‘Likwit Crew” album……….Below is a Marley Marl remix of “At your own risk”…..Rap City used this as their intro piece back in the day…….Enjoy………..P.S. He also had a album entitled “Kingdom Come’, before Mr. Sean Carter……..
4th Of July Fuckery
It’s only right I post up Kam’s “Holiday Madness”………….This is a day we should all reflect on the lives of those who passed away fighting for freedom in babylon……….And we will continue to fight for our freedom as human beings until this system becomes humane…………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………..” Picture us cooling on the 4th of July/ And if you heard that we were celebrating that’s a world wide lie” Flavor Flav {Louder Than A Bomb}
" Sucka Of The Week " Fonzworth Bentley

Viacom, M.T.V. and Jamie Foxx should be implicated in this as well…….”G’s to Gents”, is a new reality show that attempts to turn “gangsters” into gentlemen…….And the gatekeeper to this gentlemen’s club is Fonzworth Bentley, {P Diddy’s ex-cornball assistant}……..Some people might find this type of “entertainment” funny……I find it rather pathetic, and a sure sign that we have not officially hit rock bottom yet……………….Time to form a 2008 “Drop Squad”, and reprogram some of these suckazzzzzz
Industry of Imbeciles

Recently Serious Jones was dropped from “Disturbing The Peace”……It’s another sad story of politics and bullshit….What more does a up and coming M.C. have to do?…..Serious slayed opponent, after opponent…..Wrote good songs…..And had the undergound on fire for a couple years….He seemed to be the perfect mix of ‘true school” lyricism, with “new school” swag……..What’s the problem here?………..I see a trend occuring….”Raekwon” { Cuban Linx 2 } shelved…”Rakim” on Aftermath, shelved……..”Saigon”, on Atlantic shelved……….I could go on and on but I won’t……Check the clip below and peep Serious in battle mode………….
