" Milkcrate Jewelz 28 "

At this point in my life I hit the record stores at least once a week to see what I can catch out there…..With the invention of Serato dudes are unloading their records at an alarming rate, which is a good thing for me troop….

Sometimes I might treat myself and spend a nice amount of paper on some joints, but I actually enjoy taking the time to find impressive records without the hefty price tag attached to them…

This past weekend I caught a batch of one dollar records that surprised me…..

1..Kool G. Rap…..”Foul Cats”………….A bugged out Marvin Gaye chop is a perfect backdrop for another session of G Rap mic shredding……This record didn’t get much burn when it initially came out for some reason…….

It also came with the instrumental and accapella (Yeah, I’m going to remix this shit eventually-stay tuned)…..

2..Money Boss Players……”Bronx Niggas”…………..This is such a banging single it’s a damn shame that I found it for only a dollar…….I’m not complaining though-HAHAHAHA…..

3..Milano…………”Are You Listening?”……………Beat Down Records (T-Ray) put out some decent material in the early 2000’s…..Showbiz blesses Milano with some stripped down drama….DOPE…

4…Mad Lion………”Brooklyn Massacre”……..Wow, I never even heard this cut……Of course I’m familiar with “Box Of Blunts”, “Take It Easy”, “Shoot To Kill”, “Double Trouble”, etc……..But somehow this slipped past my radar……

1997-Weeded Records…Produced by Buddah Monk…….

5..Shake Sauvage……..”Kidnapping”……

Ill French Soundtrack drama from 1970 composed by Karl Heinz Schafer…….This is amazing music.

" Donald D- The Syndicate Sniper Mix Repost "

Every dope post deserves more shines- original post date March 29/2010….

For some strange reason the “Rhyme Syndicate” have been written out of the Hip Hop history books…CRAZY…How could anyone forget a 50+ plus posse that stretched from east to west, and even Europe with the signing of Hi-Jack ( The first European Hip Hop group signed to an American record label )….

Nat The Cat, Bronx Style Bob, Divine Styler, Everlast (Before he became Whitey Ford HAHAH), Domination (Haven’t Heard Nothing- is one of the best Hip Hop songs ever recorded), Afrika Islam, Spinmasters, Low Profile, S.L.J. (Before he bacame Shafiq of Sa=Ra), Bango, Bilal, Hi-Jack, Tim Story, Toddy T, King-T, Lord Finesse (Remember when he was down with Syndicate management), and of course the Syndicate sniper, “Donald-D” (I know there are more members, but you get the point-the posse was large)…..

They made such a huge impact on me growing up that I should really dedicate a whole entire week to the crew (I will in the near future)…Seeing this example of east-west Zulu Nation unity at an early age, taught me that fly music is not really a regional thing, it could come from virtually anywhere-even Europe..

So when that fake east-west beef popped off in the mid 90’s, I knew better than to participate…Salute to the motherfuckin Rhyme Syndicate- for teaching me what a true BUMRUSH is really all about…

I recently stumbled upon this mixtape by Donald-D (Capitol 1212) that made me put on my best screwface…”D” has made quite a name for himself here and abroad over the years…I’m not sure if he is living back in the States, last I heard he was living the life over in Italy….

Do yourself a favor and scoop this up…This mixtape gets the two thumbs up !!!!!!!!!

" Showbiz Speaks "

It would be impossible to label Showbiz a slept-on producer, but I don’t think people give him the full credit that he deserves…You didn’t even hear motherfuckers yelling the word “digging” until D.I.T.C. popped up on the set….SERIOUSLY…

Instead of selling his soul to be on the frontlines- Show played the background and rarely gave interviews….In my opinion that was a smart move because he never over-exposed himself which created an aura of mystery around him….

Hip Hop DX adds another top-notch interview to their catalogue by asking Show the right questions…..

PEEP….

* It also appears as if D.I.T.C. is over as a recording unit….

Showbiz: ” It’s definitely a wrap. The majority of us is cool, but…it’s not gonna happen. Everybody is grown, and creatively we in different spaces. And it was things that happened that’s not gonna – that’s gonna probably prevent us from being creative and comfortable with each other. But you know, that’s how the music industry is. It breaks up a lot of people. And it’s sad that that’s a reality, but…it definitely is “……

" Scratch Overdose, Part 5 "

D.J. Tenshun is in a hardcore league of his own…..He still presses up his releases on cassette and vinyl…He cuts over insane, distorted, gut wrenching, self produced drum programming….

Instead of switching up and toning down his sound, Tenshun chooses to increase the drama levels and maintain a certain grimy consistency with each project that he drops…

Turn the volume to ten and check out this “Scabz & Bruises” mix if your in the mood to have your wig blown back…….BLAM,BLAMZ.

" Tuesday Funk Mode "

Just when it felt like Winter was over, all of the sudden the rain decided to return and make it’s presence felt again……Damn, it is straight up ugly outside…..

It’s times like these that I need a little funk mode morale…..

D.J. Soulscape (360 Sound Collective) from Korea delivers the goods on this session stuffed with head nodders…..Take a listen and catch a groove…

DJ Soulscape 7inch Long Set Recorded Live @ VENUE 10-11-6 by 360RadioStation

" Grown Man Spit "

One word comes to mind when I think about Queensbridge legend Tragedy Khadafi…….SURVIVOR…..

After a troubled childhood, numerous stints in the bing, etc……He still maintains a positive outlook and speaks with the wisdom and intelligence of a man that has learned a tremendous amount from life’s valuable lessons…

He joins up with Cormega for some grown man spit in the heart of Q.B.

PEEP..

" Drasar Monumental vs. Mobb Deep "

Alright folks, I’m going to slap you across the lips with some official HIP HOP BATTLEFIELD pressure just in time to spoil your Valentine’s Day……I’m on some “Valentine’s Day Massacre” shit kid…HAHAHA..

“Remix Weaponry” is the first installment in a series of attacks I have planned for 2011..

Instead of just going from track to track, I decided to sit down and actually plot out a whole body of music..The process was extremely grueling :

Repeated listenings, massive amounts of editing, restructuring, rearranging and all that other shit..

No keyboards, no sample kits by other producers ( I don’t get down like that ), no corny synths- Just 50 minutes of pure hardcore rawness…..

So if you like what you hear let a brother know you appreciate the sample abuse….Also, feel free to blog this shit up (I’m not selfish HAHA)…

AND OF COURSE I WANT TO GIVE A BIG SHOUT OUT TO MOBB DEEP FOR MAKING SOME OF THE FOULEST MUSIC EVER RECORDED…

Prodigy’s released date is right around the corner- I want to salute him for trooping through his bid…

Props to Viben Onerz for the fly cover….BLAM, BLAMZ….And major props to my GET BIZ KIDZ posse for keeping those flames burning…

12…KILLERZ THEME REMIX….

13..HECTIC DRAMA…..

14….WIN OR LOSE REMIX….(CO-PRODUCED BY MONZ ROCK)…..If these drums sound familiar it’s because J-Dilla rocked the same drums on “24KT Rap”…..I made this beat in 2005 -years before I heard his joint with the same drums….Great minds think alike……So don’t even try to run up on me calling me a biter or any of that other shit…

All beats wrecked, chopped, sliced, stretched, manipulated, mixed, abused, and diced up by DRASAR MONUMENTAL (THAT’S ME TROOPER HAHA)….

I’m going to give ya’ll three versions….The first two are crazy raw versions with no mastering or anything….UGLY..(Divshare & Mediafire)

This last session was mastered by my bro Monz Rock–This version is tracked out as well..(Bandcamp)

" Golden State Warriors, Part 5 "

It’s a shame what happened to D.O.C’s voice…..In the prime of his career a car accident altered his promising future behind the microphone….

Hip Hop DX talked with D.O.C recently and he opened up about his feelings towards Dr.Dre, his place in Hip Hop, NWA, ghostwriting, and all types of other shit that will cause you to bug out…

PART 1…

PART 2…..

" Polo Mania, Part 2 "

I posted this clip up quite sometime ago, but it is so fresh that I had to bring it back for all of those that slept the first time around….

Him-Lo & Clever One get busy on this ode to all things polo (Polo Horse Stampede)…….

" Scratch Overdose, Part 4 "

Before I post something up I take the time to fully scan things to make sure I don’t hear any of that bullshit….Back in the day you could rely on certain labels and artist to come through with that official dope without even hearing it first…

Things have changed somewhat in today’s musical climate…….Some of my childhood Hip Hop heroes continue to drop the ball in the new millennium by releasing sub-par projects… SAD……So when you come to HIP HOP BATTLEFIELD keep in mind that there is a filtering process that is involved instead of RANDOM, BLIND,THIRSTY posting regardless of who’s name is affiliated with the music…

Most of these blogs out here are on some hyper- music recycling bullshit……How many times are you going to post up the same shit as the next man ?…….It’s plainly obvious that the payola steez is in full effect and certain blogs are receiving some secret paper to promote the next up-and coming BOZO !!!!!!

Nah, fuck all the politicks I’m going to keep it on some heavy “Hip Hop Ethics 101” shit………No dickriding, no nonsense, no copping pleas, no switching it up……..

With that being said you should take time out to peep this scratch session from “Toad Styles”…..Thirty minutes of pure turntable abuse..BLAM,BLAMZ…

D.J. Question put out a excellent mix last year packed with Brazilian action….Here is part two for all of those who know what time it is….

" For Those That Like To Groove, Part 6 "
