Big up to manz TOASTER for lacing me with another KAOS PAD, a Vestax turntable stand, and a handful of CD’s from Turkish Hip Hop cats that I have never heard of (Just because I can’t understand the language doesn’t mean that I can’t comprehend freshness when I hear it, I will keep my fingers crossed).
Anyway, THRESHOLD RECS (Home of KOOL KETH, MOTION MAN, KUTMASTER KURT, etc) have a podcast page that is flooded with treats…Do yourself a favor and head over there for a midweek tune up…* Can we please get a MASTERS OF ILLUSION PART 2 fellas ?
Like I always say, ” A funky drum break a day, keeps the motherfucking suckers away “….
HAHA…
And a personal pet peeve of mine is hearing the same breaks over and over again…Thankfully on this podcast by RETRO ROLAND you will hear all types of rare, explosive breaks that will force you to catch a groove..
“Featured Artists In The Mix: Little Royal, Roberto Carlos, Kei Kobayashi, Marie Rottrova, Hachirou Aoyama, Funkshone, Dennis Coffey, Manu Dibango, James Gang, Deep Purple, MPB4, Mr. Bugle, Gustav Bron and Much, Much More!
I have another fun set of funky bboy breaks from around the world! Download and share the funky vibes as I do my best to bring rare grooves to the masses!
In this mix, I’ve included artists from Brazil (MPB4 & Roberto Carlos), Czechoslovakia (Marie Rottrova & Gustav Brom) , France (Michel Audiard) and more! Plus, I was able to drop some Deep Purple in blend and rarely played tracks by Dennis Coffey and Manu Dibango!
Have fun, let loose and don’t forget to download! Enjoy!
Pass the soul on, so the world can FEEEEEEEEL IT”.
After a lengthy hiatus it appears as if my homeboy from Londontown “KD” is back in effect mode…..So head over to DAILY DIGGERS and scope out what he is up to, but make sure to tell him the grimy dude from HIP HOP BATTLEFIELD sent you cuzzo!!
I will be the first to admit that I wasn’t blown away when I heard “Solar Flares” awhile back, but I still believe JERU THE DAMAJA is a forced to be reckoned with…
FFWD to 2014 and the original DIRTY ROTTEN SCOUNDREL is back on the set with this new EP entitled “The Hammer”..Quit stalling and do the right thing troopers.
TRACKLIST-
01 Intro
02 Point Blank
03 So Raw

If your real nice with your pen game you should be able to stick to a topic throughout the duration of a song….Some dudes are so “scatterbrained out” that they are unable to pull it off..
When people mention KOOL G.RAP as the greatest to ever do it (Which I agree with) they usually refer to his influence on MC’s as far as the gangsterism aspect, but what’s not mentioned enough is that “G” was/is a great storyteller and has the uncanny ability to stick to a concept – line for line, bar for bar, from the beginning to the ending of a song (Erase Racism, Train Robbery, She Loves Me Not, Cars, Road To The Riches, On The Run, and many other songs in his impressive catalogue back up my claims)…..
I’m not implying that you have to approach every song like a lawyer in court, but I appreciate the value of concepts, it enables the material to have more shelf life and demonstrates that you actually put time into crafting your bars…
For example on “Unsolved Hip Hop Mysteries” SKANKS keeps it thorough…Produced by KYO ITACHI cuts by DJ DUKE.
I’m going to take you all the way to Cologne, Germany for this strictly 45 session by the Roughtone Sound Crew…”Heavy, Heavy, Heavy” should help you get your day started on the right foot troopers, over an hour of killer tunes on deck…BLAM,BLAM, BLAM…
PACE WON & TONE LIV connect to rep 2014 New Jerz to the fullest with “In One Ear”….If it was up to me the duo would hit the studio for some full length action…
This podcast from the ” Heavy Listening Crew ” is just out of control…I put this up a couple months back, but heads keep asking me about it; so it’s only right that I hit you off with it again…
When it comes to that good old fashioned ski-mask rap, ” Money Boss Players ” are in a hardcore league of their own…I could listen to this type of shit on repeat all day…
Big shout to my manz ” Hektek ” in the South Bronx…

*FFWD TO 2014 – Since I already posted up that new MBP mixtape – here is the visuals for my top choice cut off that project, “Smoke Something” with production from BUSTA (No, not Busta Rhymes famz)….
Since it’s GRIMM’S birthday, I’m going to hit the HIP HOP BATTLEFIELD readers with an exclusive that you wont find anywhere else except here at this current time…
Here is the visuals for the “Bear” – it’s the second attack from the album we recorded (GMV-2 The Golden Triangle)….Big shout out to BOOGZ for assembling the chaos in a way that will melt your brain cells…
So do the right thing, hit the play button and catch a motherfucking zone, but make sure to spread the word….Also I want to send another Bornday shout out to INFINTE EVIL & SHYEER ALLAH…
SALUTE to my brother MF GRIMM…It’s his Bornday today so make sure you hit up the general on his Twitter page to send your best regards…
Despite all types of turbulence he has stayed faithful to his brand of Hip Hop for over 20 years, while others completely sold out at the first opportunity that they could….I highly suggest peeping out his entire discography – you might learn a thing or two about staying dedicated to your craft, creativity, and the fine art of wrecking mic’s on a consistent basis…
Are you on the hunt for some groove morale in your life ? You just found it troopers..
“British/Trinidadian poet/musician Anthony Joseph already offered us with 3 exclusive mixes: ‘Roots & Influences’ (dec. 2008), ‘The Rubber Orchestra Paris DJs Mix Part 1’ (sept. 2011) and ‘Part 2’ (dec. 2011). Hot on the heels of his summer tour dates and live album release (‘Live In Bremen’), Anthony’s back with a superb mix of Voodoo Jazz, the third in the series of ‘West Indies Funk’ selections after Loik and Djouls’ ones (still available here and there)… Expect a lot of cool songs and grooves from Trinidad and more Caribbean islands music”

All the way from France comes this collection of goodies from the BUILT TO LAST CREW….After one look at this playlist I’m quite sure you will do the right thing and scoop this one up!!
Awww man, it’s a beautiful day here in Vietnam, California….The sun is in full effect, girls are starting to strut around in tropical gear, the vibes are explosive and I just put a full tank of gas in the ride…It’s times like these that I throw on something extra flavorful….
The ALOHA GOT SOUL crew assembled a session of Summer soundtrack shit that will have you in groove mode……
“You know the story: 1 store. 10 dollars. 100 records.
But one mixtape just wasn’t enough. That’s why I made another, it’s called Paradise:1x10x100 Revisited.
Curated from vinyl bought at Harry’s Music Store in Hawaii, Paradise: 1x10x100 will take you to the paradise within your soul”.
With a name like “FARRAKHAN RAP” for a song title how could you go wrong right?…True Masterz continue on their streak of dropping consistent material, I wonder what else they have planned for 2014..
Your probably wondering why and the fuck is FUNKMASTER FLEX on the BATTLEFIELD (Which is understandable to the utmost)….
The reason why he is on here is because yesterday he totally blacked on Dame Dash in a way that is reminiscent of a “juiced up” WWF wrester from the 80’s…..Yeah, I know FUNK FLEX is a two-bit sellout himself, but please listen to this clip if your in the mood for wild uncontrollable fits of laughter…
*1 Funniest moments – was when he called dude a “sore winner”…HAHA..
*2 Funniest moments – “The culture vultures allowed you to call yourself a cakeaholic”….CLASSIC.
*3 Funniest moments – Truth be told this WHOLE shit is crazy funny to me……
