" New Buckwild Shit "

It’s good to hear more new music from Buckwild in 2010……The Celph Titled collabo album was enough to hold me down, but now he comes to the table with remixes to keep the flames burning….

Peep this….

“There Will Be Blood” featuring O.C., Grand Puba, A.G., Celph Titled, Sadat X, and motherfucking Diamond D…….What more do you guys want ?

" The Triumphant Return Of Battlefield Funk Radio "

Just when you thought it was safe, Battlefield Funk returns tonight for another dose of Hip Hop shock treatment…Yeah, I know it’s been a minute, but brothers have been extremely busy…..

We also have a special guest tonight that is a monster on the decks-so you don’t want to get caught snoozing…

You know how we do: doubles, blends, shenanigans, Hip Hop trivia, newness, under the radar rockets, and all that other fly shit…

See you at 9 O’clock sharp, Vietnam, California time….

" Joint Of The Day "

Ahhhhhh yeah…….

If you haven’t noticed by now, Hip Hop Battlefield gravitates towards the grimy side of things…..When I hear these sensitive cornballs with their soft rhymes and fluffy beats, I just have to shake my head in disbelief……..

So for this episode of “Joint Of The Day”, your going to get hit with a heavy handed uppercut straight to the face…..This cut by Lo Down (Fright Night) sounds like some haunted house, apocalyptic type shit…..If you missed this in 1994 don’t feel bad, I wasn’t up on this cut until last year myself…..

I’m not well versed on the history of “Lo Down”, all I know is that they get very busy over a menacing beat by Last Straw Productions……If you have more info on this mysterious crew- drop some science in the comment section…

" Artifacts 2010 "

Yes indeed…..

After the RSC reunion show and the AC3 pop off in Atlanta, it was only a matter of time before Artifacts went back in the lab and recorded some new material…The name of this cut is “Big Deal” and it’s produced by “44th P”……

CHECK IN….

" Golden State Warriors, Part 4 "

When it comes to west coast hardcore, “Above The Law” deserve an honorable mention…..K.M.G, Total Chaos, Big Hutch, and Go Mack put the city of Pomona on the map with well though out conceptual albums…..

My favorite album from the crew is the influential “Black Mafia Life” joint that dropped in 1992……I can listen to this record front to back without hitting the skip button…..Two D.J.’s and two M.C.’s combined forces for a project that changed the landscape of west coast Hip Hop forever….

Not only did Dr.Dre use this album for inspiration on “The Chronic”, so many other producers tried their hardest to emulate the sound of “BML” without coming close….

So here’s a salute to you “Above The Law” for helping make 1992 a year to remember……

“Pimp Clinic”………Damn this is funky, so funky that Dr. Dre straight bit it….

“Me Vs. My Ego”

" Stand Up It’s Killa Ben "

A couple weeks ago I posted up some old Killa Ben shit, now it’s time to hit you over the head with a new K.B. grenade….”Schitzo” sounds like pure, raw night crawler music….It also features G.C.M. repper “Montage One” on the vocals…

I’m feeling this shit……BLAM,BLAM….

LISTEN UP….

" W.S.T. Mixtape Madness "

Yesterday I got a nice little package in the mail from my Z homeboy Daze Roc………Thanks my man…

Inside the package was a C.D. called “Mic Abuse 2”, which featured a gang of solid material…..If you want to cop the C.D it comes with a special limited edition “Mic Abuse 2” T-Shirt as well….

So quit stalling and head over to his spot if you know what time it is…..Peace to all the San Diego Z’s….

CHECK IN…..

" New Shots "

Judging by this song right here, KRS-One & Premier might have the album of the year on their hands……Hopefully “Return Of The Boom Bip” will come out sooner than later….

Listen up as Grand Puba Maxwell & KRS drop heavy jewelry for all of you non-believers out there……

Hip Hop Battlefield gives this song the two thumbs up !!!!!!

“5 %”

" Drum Break Pressure "

A wise man once told me, “A funky drum break a day, keeps the motherfucking suckers away”…….HAHA..

When it comes to drum breaks, I am sitting on a healthy stack of joints that I haven’t heard anyone else rock before……I’m not talking about soft, played out drum breaks…..

I’m talking about rugged percussion that will blow you right out of your Timberland’s….

And just to show my appreciation for all of you that check in on the regular, I’m going to bless you with a ugly drum break to give your Monday morning an official power boost……I will never, ever do this again, so consider yourself lucky today….

I repeat, I will never, ever give up open drums that took me a tremendous amount of time to find ever again….

BRACE YOURSELF !!!!!!!!!

" Hip Hop Morale "

Just because I haven’t posted for a couple days doesn’t mean Mr. Hip Hop Battlefield is sleeping…..Matter of fact it’s been the total opposite…..

My boys Kufu, Prize, Ground Level, and Demik came through to wreck shop on some ill graff monster shit…….Even Planet from Funk What Ya Heard decided to let loose with the aerosol madness…….

Here are a couple photos that will crack your dome wide open…..

Peep….

“FUNK THANX TAKING 2010 VIETNAM, CALIFORNIA”……..PRIZE,DEMIK,KUFU,PEEZO….

As you can see no fuckin games were being played………Nasty color schemes, an anti-thanksgiving theme, B-Boy turkeys, forest backdrop, and all that other fly shit cousin……BLAM,BLAM………..Full production steez…

Big shout out to Fooders, Kufi, Demik, Planet, Bas One, Nac, Big Prize, Ground Level, everyone that came out for Mighty 4, Fran, State, and my man Kendoo….

It’s going to be a wild week on Hip Hop battlefield……So make sure that you stay tuned if you know what’s best for you…..

" In The Sucker Free "

It’s going to be on and cracking in the city by the bay on the 28th…..If you live in the area you better do the right thing and come through…

Peace-
