" Milk Dee Madness "

If you picked up the C.D. of Milk Dee’s Never Dated album, it didn’t include the stellar remix of “Get Off My Log” by bay area pioneer, Joe Quixx (It was a vinyl only release)……

I can remember the first time I heard this on KCSB and I flipped out when Milk kicked rhymes like, ” Get off that smoke, get off my joint, get off my jewels, get off my back / get off my jim, get off my bozack “…….HAHAHA….

There were talks of First Priority Music re-launching with plans to release the shelved Audio 2, “The Last Dead Indian” album a couple years back……Hopefully that will eventually happen……

Until then, this “Get Off My Log” Jazzy Fat Woody remix will hold me down…….Def American Records 1995…

Tune in……

" Motherland Funk Mode, Part 2 "

" Happy Born Day "

* In the above pic Bron, Riff, Fooderz, Planet and myself buck wildin at a Egyptian Lover pop off 2006 S.F.

I gotta send a big birthday shout out to my dude Fooderz Oner………When it comes to this Hip Hop shit he holds down the fort with the decks, on the beats, on the engineering, graff, and he also grabs mic’s on the low HAHAHA…..

You can catch him on Q-Bert’s “Scratch University” or on one of our past U-Stream shows (BATTLEFIELD FUNK RADIO)….

Salute to you famo- the crew is going to ride heavy tonight……….

" Breaks For Days Radio "

My homeboy from London Kid Dyno is no slouch when it comes to supplying that official dope….On his Daily Diggers blog he comes equipped with critical information, secret society breakbeats, interviews, and all types of Hip Hop grenades….

Instead of blessing us with redundant beats, he stays on his digging grizzly and manages to bring different spices to the table….

Lately he has been under the weather so he decided to re-post the first episode of “Breaks For Days Radio”…….If your looking for some under the radar ammo to help jump start your Monday- you just found it trooper……

Do the right thing….

" Thursday Firepower "

Some reggae/dancehall D.J.’s are too lazy for my taste……..I don’t give a fuck if you can run a rhythm for 45 minutes straight…..And I could care less if you greased someone’s pockets in order to get dubplates from artist that don’t truly respect your so-called sound system….

Shortcut, Nicky Bonds, and plenty others approach reggae mixes from a Hip Hop standpoint which keeps the flavors interesting…

D.J. Kikkoman brings the pressure with this explosive dose of rudeboy smashers (The Kingston-Brooklyn Bridge)…..BOOYAAAKAAA SHOT………Here is what Kikkoman had to say regarding this particular session….

“Not everyone’s cup of tea, but when I try to make a mix, I try real hard to stay with the theme I’m goin with……Back in the early 90’s, I used to record Jason D’s “Wise Up” show 88.1 KZSC and started to notice he put these occasional dancehall-hip hop version songs here and there on his 3 hour show……Back then, an artist named *Supercat* (90’s version of Sean Paul) was f*ckin kill-ing IT!!!!! he couldn’t be touched, his flow was incredible, and this mix is essentially a tribute to his influence on hip-hop culture…..Sean Paul did the same thing at the beginning of this century, but I haven’t kept up with him for a bit, what’s he up to”??

The Kingston-Brooklyn Bridge by ***DJ Kikkoman***

"Milkcrate Jewels # 29 "

Oh yeah, the motherfuckin Alliance……King Of Chill (These days he man’s the boards for Premier’s Live From HQ Radio show), K-Swift, & D.J. Skill…..

Earlier members of the “Alliance Of M.C.’s” crew included D.J. Master Mike, D.J. Dice, & Kool C….

In 1988 they put out their one and only full length album, “We Could Get Used To This”……..Classic material indeed……After the crew disbanded King Of Chill went on to write & produce for M.C. Lyte, Audio 2, etc ……

I hear that a documentary is in the works for 2011….Keep your eyes open, also keep your eyes peeled for the Audio 2 & Alliance mini album entitled Flip- Flop (1986) and the Alliance- “Bustin Loose” E.P (1987)………

Here are a couple of my all time favorite joints from We Could Get Used To This….

“Leeches”

“Still You Sleep”

“We Could Get Used To This”

" Welcome Home Prodigy-Hosted By Havoc "

Until then, here is little session hosted by Havoc that will perk your ears up…..Tune in….

" Let The Beats Rock "

Are you growing tired of hearing sub-par lyrics ?………..God damn, it seems as if the bar has sunk so low when it comes to rhymes that I’m not even shocked anymore when I hear someone yelling that nonsense….

And nowadays you have these fools spitting these incomplete metaphors…For example, ” I will make it rain on you niggas, Seattle”……HAHAHAHA…….Nah, that incomplete metaphor shit is crazy wack….

M.C.’s like T La Rock, KRS, Chill Rob G, Kool Moe, Dee (Before all that Wild, Wild, West bullshit), Chuck D and many others inspired me to read more books in order to step my vocab level up a notch……Some of these new jack rap dudes only inspire me to listen to more instrumental projects…..

If your feeling the same way-scoop up this mixtape by Atlanta’s D.J. Fudge ( A name isn’t everything I guess)…….A nice collection of blended grooves for a chilly Tuesday evening…..

ENJOY….

" New Shit On Deck "

Here is my favorite cut off the new “Bugsy The God” album that just dropped last week (My Point Of View) produced by Pikk….

Give it a listen troop…..

" Act Like You Know "

If your in the Northern California area make sure you come and check out the “Nothing But Style” art exhibit on March 12th….Sha-One, Riff Raff, Planet, and myself will be holding down the turntables with an arsenal of sure-shot dancefloor scorchers…..

Peace-
D

" The Art Of Rap "

Even though Ice-T made a few ill advised moves during his illustrious career (Playing a cop, his horrendous reality show “Rap School”, a few god-awful movie cameos, etc)…..I still give him his proper respect for his influential contributions to this Hip Hop art form…..

Matter of fact, I would still put “T” on my all time top ten list of M.C.’s……SERIOUSLY……

Check out this trailer from the Ice-T documentary “The Art Of Rap”……….Appearances from Kool Keith, Immortal Technique, Grandmaster Caz, Chuck D, Big Daddy Kane, Raekwon, Lord Finesse, D.J. Premier, etc….
