It’s been awhile since I posted up kicks from the stash….

These Summer scorchers seem to get a reaction whenever I rock them on the boulevard….Adidas Ciero mid-tops, light tan with dark tan highlights, white trim, gum soles, and a splash of grey make these joints extra hardbody…..

Mad comfy as well homeboy…..

POW…

Finally got around to watching the Tribe Called Quest documentary last night….You might be surprised to find out that I actually enjoyed it….

They cover a lot of ground….

From their humble beginnings, all the way up to 2011 you get the full picture of what this group was/is all about…..I couldn’t understand why Q-tip didn’t fully support this project, but after checking it out I think I know why…..

In some ways he is portrayed as being a little self-centered and egotistical….It is somewhat difficult to explain, so why don’t you do yourself a favor and watch the entire thing yourself…..

I’m not quite sure how long this link will last before it gets broken…..

Big up to my dude Monz Rock…..

DOWNLOAD…

Now you can listen to this legendary battle from 1981 fully remastered and ready to bang……Damn, this is the type of shit that I listen to when I get tired of hearing all these bozos perpetrating like they know how to wreck mics and they don’t have a fuckin clue…

Just because you can crack a couple jokes doesn’t mean you are a battle M.C.

HAHAHAHA……

DO NOT SLEEP……VIA-Old School Hip Hop Tapes…..

* Notice that ill Rhyme Syndicate jacket Ernie is rocking in the above pic….DAMN…

In this day in age many people are afraid to VOICE their opinion when it comes to Hip Hop…..Everyone is trying to be P.C. and pat each other on the back instead of being truthful about the prevalent fuckery taking place right before our eyes…

Some people will even label you a hater if you are a critical thinker when it comes to this art form…..Fuck all the bullshit, I just want to hear the truth….

Ernie Paniccioli recently did a lecture at the Toronto L.I.V.E. festival that is packed with gems……Instead of holding his tongue like so many cowards do, he pulls no punches and gives it to you straight with no apologies….

Turn off your television and pay close attention folks…..

Big shout to my NORTH STAR ZULU brother Sha-Onerz for looking out..

* Originally posted February 9th 2010….

Before I post something up I take the time to fully scan things to make sure I don’t hear any of that bullshit….Back in the day you could rely on certain labels and artist to come through with that official dope without even hearing it first…

Things have changed somewhat in today’s musical climate…….Some of my childhood Hip Hop heroes continue to drop the ball in the new millennium by releasing sub-par projects… SAD……So when you come to HIP HOP BATTLEFIELD keep in mind that there is a filtering process that is involved instead of RANDOM, BLIND,THIRSTY posting regardless of who’s name is affiliated with the music…

Most of these blogs out here are on some hyper- music recycling bullshit……How many times are you going to post up the same shit as the next man ?…….It’s plainly obvious that the payola steez is in full effect and certain blogs are receiving some secret paper to promote the next up-and coming BOZO !!!!!!

Nah, fuck all the politicks I’m going to keep it on some heavy “Hip Hop Ethics 101” shit………No dickriding, no nonsense, no copping pleas, no switching it up……..

With that being said you should take time out to peep this scratch session from “Toad Styles”…..Thirty minutes of pure turntable abuse..BLAM,BLAMZ…

* GET YOUR SCRATCH PATTERNS UP !!!!!

While scoping out the excellent “Dirty Waters” blog, I noticed an in-depth interview with Mr. Rap Is Out Of Control himself, DJ Eclipse…..

Usually Eclipse is the one interviewing different artist, it’s nice to read what his opinions are for a change….

Anyways, there is a tremendous amount of fresh material at this blog for you to scoop up…Do not sleep partner…..When you head over there, tell them that grimy brother from HIP HOP BATTLEFIELD sent you kid….

TUNE IN….

Now that I’m a proud father, I can’t play all that hardcore shit while I’m dealing with my son (He is only 10 months old)……As much as I would love to play some early NWA for him to see what his reaction would be, it just doesn’t feel like the right thing to do HAHA..

When he gets older, I will put him in the lab to hear all the hardcore music that influenced his dad throughout the years…

Until then, he gets to hear uplifting jewels like this : Nicola Conte “Viagem 3″……WOW, Brazilian tunes that would even make a cold blooded killer crack a smile and do a little two-step…..

Summer is here trooper, catch a groove and rock on….

“The lord is my shepard / and anybody fronting I attack them like a leopard”…..HAHA…

Take a listen to the illest cut on Nine’s new mixtape, “A Big Way”……..Damn, this shit bangs like a motherfucker, unfortunately the rest of the mixtape doesn’t rock heavy production like this…

PEEP HOMEBOY…

Just listened to this instrumental project by a cat that goes by the name Katalyst……

Instead of going the usual boring beat tape route, he added some flavor packets into the equation….You will hear heavy drums, scratch sentences, well thought out composition, and a couple surprises….

I would post up the entire project, but some songs are a little too spacy for my taste…….

Here are a couple highlights….

“Break Up”………..Midway through this joint things start really cooking…DONT SLEEP..

“Showtime”…….BREAKBEAT OVERLOAD…

My “Weapons” trilogy is complete…..”Wax Weapons”, “Strictly Weapons”, and the Mobb Deep remix project, “Remix Weaponry”…

By putting it out on the blog it helped me release a lot of tension that I had stored up for quite sometime, and organize certain beats that I stored away in the stash…

I think I accomplished my personal goals with those sessions, now it’s time to retire the weapons theme and bring some different drama to the table….

Here is another remix that’s going to set the pace for the new shit I have brewing up…

M.O.P. get the remix facelift this time around (Let It Bang)…..

Fasten your helmet, strap yourself in, and put on your war goggles trooper, it’s about to get creepy on the motherfuckin battlefield..

Also, make sure you listen to this on decent speakers or you won’t hear all the production science popping off….

BLAM,BLAM…..

Everything in my world revolves around Hip Hop in some shape, form, or fashion…..From the way that I flip my vocab, to the way I dress, to the way I interact with other people….Truth be told, I don’t have any friends that aren’t Hip Hop heads to some degree…

If your not a Hip Hop dude more than likely I will lose interest in what your talking about eventually…..HAHA…

Is that shallow ?

Anyway, My dude Fran recently came back from the Beat Swapmeet in L.A. and blessed me with a ODB candle….How is that for Hip Hop….

Theses flavorful joints are made by a lady named Junebugg……If you want to cop one yourself, head over to her blog and tell her that the grimy brother from HIP HOP BATTLEFIELD sent you…..

PEEP…

Take a listen to this chopfest carried out by DJ Spinna (Chopmaster Flopp EP)….

He takes some well known breaks and gives them the MPC sound deconstruction treatment….Be on the lookout for Spinna’s upcoming full length, “Who’s Got The Chops” in the near future….

CHECK IN…

“Lord digga, the microphone mutilator with the hardcore data to mash motherfuckers like potatoes / get a load of a punk who tried to diss me, you wanna know why cause I spit on spectators”…

“Saturday Night”…..

Remember that shit ?…..When I heard the Digga Man flip those crazy bars I was eager to hear more from the dude with the ugly vocals…..Unfortunately the INC crew disbanded (Uneek, Ace, Digga, and Paula Perry) but Digga continued to produce and release a couple singles here and there…

One Leg Up records released the High Plains Drifter EP a couple years back as well (Go cop that if you haven’t already)….

I recently stumbled onto a compilation of Lord Digga joints that caught my attention…….CHECK IN JACK..
