For some strange reason after the “Pre-Emptive Strike” mixtape hit the 2000 download mark, the main link mysteriously got killed….I was extremely puzzled because it’s a motherfucking mixtape (big up to the cats that took it upon themselves to create new links, I SEE YOU) …
It wasn’t for sale, it wasn’t on I-Tunes or anything so I have absolutely no clue why someone would try to stifle progress….

Not to sound like your typical “THROWBACK BROTHER”, but I miss the days when cats would actually listen to an album from front to back….
In this “short circuit era” that we are currently living in, it’s seems as if the masses merely skim through a listening experience, instead of taking the time to truly absorb a full length release…

GRIMM & I both share a deep affinity for Reggae music……Being that half of my family is from the Cayman Islands (by way of Africa of course) it was commonplace to hear Caribbean flavors blasting out of the speakers in my household growing up……
In my opinion Hip Hop and reggae are one in the same…
Anyway, SUPERCAT is one of GRIMM’S favorite reggae artist…..He even unveiled to me that he spit rhymes for the DON in a impromptu street cipher session in the mid nineties….
HAHAHA.

Speaking of the late great Roc Raida, he was the DJ for MF Grimm in the group, GRAVEDIGGAZ (this was years before the other “Diary Of A Madmen” crew assembled, RIP Poetic)..

Another jewel of a record store……This place was holding a little bit of everything : ill rock records, Hip Hop, Jazz, but the prices were a little jive in my opinion…..Regardless, I did some real damage up in that piece…..
Of course I ransacked other records shops, Good Will’s, Salvation Armies and all that but I will keep that info to myself…..Chicago is an exciting city with a rich musical heritage – it seems as if record stores are opening up out there instead of closing like here in California…
If your on the hunt for more vinyl to add to the stacks, I highly recommend that you head out there to go for yours…
