Since Public Enemy recently got inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame, I highly recommend that you take the time to peep this interview with Johnny Juice Rosado that was conducted by Kevin Beacham (5th Element)…
Don’t sleep, you might just learn something homepiss…
“In Part One of our interview he talks about his early days of Hip Hop from growing up in the Bronx and moving to Long Island at a young age. We discuss his start as a B Boy and how that transformed into him being intrigued with the turntables. He speaks in great detail about his early mentors from Long Island, DJ Will and DJ Hig. We find out how he first connected with Spectrum City, right around the time they were becoming Public Enemy and recording “Yo! Bumrush The Show.” He also gives a lot of history and his involvement in the early years of members of Leaders Of The New School; KB MC a.k.a Charlie Brown and Kid Craze a.k.a Busta Rhymes. He speaks about early work with UBC members: E Ski Spectacular and D-Nasty. He also gives a detailed glimpse of how he ended up doing cuts on Public Enemy albums and some details on his scratch credits”.
” New Shit On Deck “

” Tony Prince Speaks “
Rob Swift recently rocked a in-depth interview with Tony Prince (DMC) that is worthy of your attention.
“DJ Rob Swift: What you said about mega mixes is so true. When you think about it, a 6 minute DMC set is exactly that, a mega mix performed by a DJ in real time. So who were some of the other DJs that competed in the New Music Seminar battles whom you think were also pushing the boundaries of what DJs did back in the early years of organized competitions?
Tony Prince: Whiz Kid, Afrika Islam, Jazzy Joyce, Mixmaster Ice, Barry B, Cut Creator are some of the great hip-hop DJs running with the first pack at the Marriot Marquee Battle for World Supremacy.
DJ Rob Swift: All legends for sure. We’re there elimination rounds in the DMC pre – DJ Cheese era like now or were the competitors invited?
Tony Prince: There was only one championship through DMC before the 1986 Cheese year and it was only UK DJs (Roger Johnson won this). There was no scratching, just mixing in beat and in tune. A lot of DJs were tone-deaf and tried to mix music in two conflicting keys, it used to drive me crazy”.
” Tuesday Firepower “
I can’t recall if I posted this up when it first dropped. Regardless, the good people at DOPE FOLKS dropped this mix that showcases 16 cuts from their ever expanding catalogue…
DONT SLEEP JACK!

” Melanin 9 : Magna Carta “
That “MAGNA CARTA” album by Melanin 9 had some rockers on it…..I’m quite sure cats are going to say his flow is reminiscent of an early 90’s Nasir Jones…Sure you can hear traces of his influences with his rhyme patterns, but if you listen closely you will hear original wordplay that was obviously fueled by hitting the books heavily……..
Some of the played-out drum breaks he rocked over got on my nerves (a personal pet peeve)….He made up for it somewhat with a barrage of slick underworld narratives…
LONDON STAND THE FUCK UP !!!!!!

Anyway, Mane One keeps the momentum pumping on this Freestyle Session mix from a couple months back…Soul power, heavy drum breaks, wild arrangements, doubles, and all that other fly shit cuzzo….
