” Fluent On The Remix “

It’s almost criminal how some dudes get overlooked in this Hip Hop shit….Cats could spend their entire life devoted to their craft, only to fade away into obscurity without the accolades that they have wholeheartedly earned..

SELFISH & FLUENT dropped a classic back in 2008 entitled “Uncut Raw” …Well crafted bars spit over the ugliest, dusted out production…Original, uncompromising, dirty, innovative and ultimately creative…Over the years I was able to develop a rapport with SELFISH…On my many visits to Chicago over the years, we would actually link up, go digging, hit up ill restaurants, build, and talk about all types of Hip Hop theories and shit..

I would always ask him about a follow up to “Uncut Raw”…He ended up playing part 2 for me- which was equally impressive, but he had no plans on releasing it whatsoever unfortunately…

His producer at the time FLUENT was always shrouded in mystery…I have never seen a picture of him, he doesn’t really do interviews, and I haven’t heard any new material whatsoever…But what remains is an impressive body of music that is unconventional , and uncompromising in it’s approach which I fully respect…This remix he did of “Criminology” is just ridiculous..
