” Joint Of The Day “
The first time I heard CAGE was when he was featured on the Pete Nice album , on a cut entitled “Rich, Bring Him Back”…But the songs that really caught my attention by him were ” One By One ” , and the joint that I’m posting today ” 54 “….
How can you front on ugly lines like – ” While I lay below a wall of flesh, engulfed by the homeless in the fire escape / I might evaporate the whole state “…..For some reason cats never bring this song up whenever Cage’s name get’s mentioned (Maybe because it was released almost 27 years ago at this point)..Regardless, Cage has a very interesting story – everything from time spent in a mental institution, a very troubled upbringing, bouts with drugs, numerous releases, and ultimately abandoning his initial hardcore Hip Hop roots and reconfiguring his style of musical output..
Take a listen to this Mighty Mi produced scorcher that still bangs in 2026..
