” Body Rocking “
If you need more groove morale in your life do the right thing….
“George “King of the Ivories” Moxey – legendary Caribbean pianist – the leading Jamaican dance music pianist since the 1930s recorded his only jazz album, backed by Ernest Ranglin’s trio, in the late 50s. Born in Nassau, the capital of Bahamas, Moxey moved to Jamaica in the 1930s where he formed and led an 8-piece band since 1939. His band played a big part in developing the local ballrooms and radio stations, therefore by the 1950s, he was a vital musician in Kingston music scene. This is lounge-style Caribbean jazz, with George accompanying himself, or backed by the Ernest Ranglin trio. The album includes plenty of traditional calypso and jazz standards, though it also contains solo piano and organ ballads as well”.
