Since the Warriors won last night, it’s only right that I put the spotlight on a northern Cali Crew that deserve more “shines”….
When I watched the STONES THROW documentary awhile back, I couldn’t help but notice that a few names were mysteriously omitted from the film…RASCO (who had one of the labels biggest hits with the “UNASSISTED”, and the HOMELISS DERELIX)….The HD’z were a crew that emerged from San Jose with a hazy, dusted out, Jazzy vibe that immediately captured my attention…GRAND THE VISITOR & THE ARCHITECT sounded different than anything else out on the label, and it’s somewhat criminal that their names aren’t brought up more often when dudes are talking about ill groups from Cali in the 90’s – early 2000’s….
The good folks over at TI4TH recently posted up some rare HD’z material that you should peep..
