Even though I am a die-hard Rubberoom supporter, I wasn’t feeling one of their newest tracks, “It’s On” when I heard it a few weeks ago……Wasn’t bad, I was just expecting more since they haven’t recorded together in quite sometime…..
Thank goodness they fully redeemed themselves with this Rebooted mixtape full of bangers, remixes (Makers remix of White Hot Razors is crazy), B-Sides, etc…….
I’m glad to hear that they are recording as a unit again…..Looking forward to hearing more hardcore chaos from these Chicago madmen..
Konny Kon supplies us with over an hour of Hip Hop rockets past and present……You will hear joints from U.N., Evil Ed, Mic Geronimo, Brain Sick Mob, Raekwon, Real Live, Cappo, etc…..
Instead of going the compilation route- he took the time to actually mix (Seems like a lost art these days unfortunately)…..
Here is one of my favorite cuts from J Rawls new album Hip Hop Affect, “Salute” featuring Painkhan…..The way he flows on this beat is just ridiculous, and the beat grabbed my attention from the gate…..
I highly suggest you listen to this on a decent system to truly absorb how ill the production is…….
Dj Muro , Pete Rock, and Megachin come together for this session of big tunes on Deadly Dragon Sounds (East Village Radio)…Over two hours of official goodness for your eardrums…..
If this doesn’t spark up your Thursday evening, nothing will…….HAHA.
So you know what that means right ? Nothing but that sure shot, certified head nodder shit to keep your groove morale intact and right and exact….YA HEARD ME….
Miles Newbold (Now Again Records) & Grant Phabao rock the set this time around with heavy selections indeed……..POW,POW.

Before I even get started I gotta mention that I believe pimps are some of the biggest scumbags you will ever meet….Anyone that takes advantage of dizzy women for the sake of money has some real issues….
Don’t get me wrong- many women willingly play the game without being forced into that lifestyle….Shiiiit, some of them even believe that being a prostitute elevates them into a glamorous career….But I believe we need to spend more time trying to build our women up, instead of perpetuating negativity and typical behavior……..
Everyone has a mother……Some of you cats have sisters and daughters so you should know better famz…..
With that being said, I am still a Hip Hop head and I tend to gravitate towards the grimier side of things…….Even though I am a civilized brother, I mostly listen to hardcore material …….For example, ex- Ranjah “Wais P” spits that pimp shit in his bars over fresh production by Preemo, Statik Selektah, Sebb, Shuko, and others on his latest mixtape, “It’s In The Game”……
Mr. Jake One & Baghatvinyl take us on a soulful journey with a barrage of explosive gems…..Over an hour of choice cuts that will make your ears perk up………
Some of you may have heard this before, and some of you haven’t…..Regardless, it deserves your undivided attention so let the beats rock homeboy…
Peep this new leak from the Pete Rock and Smith & Wesson “Monumental” album due out sometime this Summer…..They bring along Sean Price and Styles P for a session of mic crushing……
If this is any indication of what their project will sound like- I will be checking for it…
Just when you thought it was safe, Hip Hop Battlefield launches more rockets at your domepiece……Wonder & Valentino dropped an explosive 12 inch back in 1994 and now you have the opportunity to hear more of the ammo they had stashed away in the vaults….
Real grimy, no nonsense ski mask rap……..KEEP VINYL ALIVE OR ELSE !!!!!!!!
TRACKLISTING:
[A1] Time 4 Ya Squad 2 Move [A2] Keep On Doin’ It [A3] Buck ‘Em
Let me start this off by saying that this new album by Neek The Exotic is ten times better than his debut album (Exotic’s Raw)…On his newest outing he combines forces with that “live guy with glasses” Large Pro for a solid album…..Nothing on the level of Faking The Funk but a enjoyable listen nevertheless….
This last weekend I had the opportunity to witness some extra terrestrial Hip Hop chaos….STRAIGHT UP…..A couple of my homeboys shared the stage with the legend Q-Bert (Yeah dude is a real live legend, unlike some of these clowns who really don’t deserve that title)…..
I cannot disclose their names because Q-Bert has them on a strictly 007 turntable assassin steez (Dudes were even rocking crazy ass outfits so you couldn’t detect their identity)……..They decided to label themselves the “Scratch Shamans” because they are dead serious when it comes to cutting shit the fuck up……..I’m really excited for these two because they have put in so much work over the years….Real dedication…..Real discipline….Real study…..
SALUTE…….
The show popped off in S.F. at Yoshi’s Jazz club……A fly place with mad history (It used to be the headquarters for the Black Panther Party of S.F.), atmosphere, and a crazy house system that pumped an insane amount of low end……..
The party people were most definitely in the house…..Gorgeous females, scratch stalkers, B-Boys and all that other 2011 shit…..After the trio totally destroyed the place with technical yet flavorful scratches, the crew and I headed over to Q-Bert’s house for more action…..
As I entered the living room, I spot “Q” sitting on a stool (Does this guy ever rest) slicing phrases up something lovely…..Next to him was the infamous mad man, “DJ Swamp”………I thought to myself, “Damn it’s 3:00 o’clock in the morning and Q is scratching like it’s 3:00 o’clock in the afternoon”……I’m talking about serious dedication folks……..
4:00 o’clock rolls around but “Q” is just getting warmed up……Nonstop ill patterns are popping off and I’m bugging the fuck out at this point……I had a video camera on me and all that- but I didn’t want to be that thirsty dude trying to get footage and ruining the vibe with that paparazzi fuckery……
I’m tempted to hop on the decks alongside “Q”…….I definitely practice my scratches on the daily so I’m somewhat secure with my level of cutting……Then it hit me- fall back “D”, this is the first time at dudes house, it’s 4:30 in the morning and you are not built like that……….So what did I do, I fell back like any self-respecting dude would and played position……
What a night…I want to send a shout out to the “Scratch Shamans”, I have known you cats for over a decade now…Congrats fam, the crew is looking extra ill right now…Planet, Mad Miguel, Young Prize, Kufi, El, Bron, Marks, Franz, State, Kendoo, motherfuckin Bas-One (I didn’t know you scratch fool HAHA), Swamp, Toad Man (HAHA), and everyone else that came through…
Anyway, here is a little footage of the show for all those that couldn’t make it out…….DONT SLEEP…
My weekend was absolutely insane…..I’m talking some real live Hip Hop holiday shit…SERIOUSLY…
I will talk about that later on today……Until then, enjoy this sure shot mix from the good folks over at “Crates Of A.G.”…….WOW..
When I listened to this a couple days ago I was very surprised at how ill the selections were……Do yourself a favor and start your Monday off on the right foot…..This is what A Kutt had to say regarding this particular session….
“Even though the vinyl market is shrinking..there’s not one single month without any of the dope unreleased limited edition records from the usual suspects such as one leg up, diggers with gratitude, chopped herring, vinyl addicts, six2six, ipower, no sleep, freestyle records, solid ground, dope folks etc. i grabbed a bunch of these from the last couple of years and did a mix for you guys. 56mins! i’m sure there will be a part 2.”

2011 is going to be a crazy year for Hip Hop…..While some dudes complain and constantly talk about the good old days, there are still quality releases popping off…..You just have to be determined to sift through a lot of nonsense to get to the gems….
For instance, one of the hardest working dudes in Hip Hop, “Insight” has a new project with Count Bass D due out May 17th (Risk Takers)……
