” Sunday Rockets On Deck “
When I first copped this mix a few years back by DJ Muro & K-Prince (Golden Era Of Rap) I lost my motherfucking marbles…
It’s loaded to the brim with under the radar burners….
One of the many cuts that caught my attention was, “Dealing With Aces” by J-Swiff & 800 Money…..My homeboy KUFUE ONERZ is actually “J-Swiff’s” younger brother…KUFUE blessed me with doubles of this ultra rare hardrock classic years ago..
That particular record is available on discogs and E-Bay for over three hundred bills (yeah, it’s that rare trooper – HAHAHA..)….
Enough of the rambling, after you take one look at the playlist you will know exactly what time it is…

” New Shit On Deck “
With so many links being sent to my e-mail it’s hard to sift through the endless amounts of music in my inbox…..85 % of the shit I get is only useful for a decent sleeping aid…
HAHA…
This morning I was surprised to find a free download leak for Guilty Simpson & Apollo Brown’s new project “Dice Game”…Be on the lookout for the full length November 13th on Mello Music Group..
Nice to hear Guilty veer away from his usual battle rap steez and drop some survival bars….
“Truth Be Told”.
” Daily Diggers On The Beats ”
My homeboy at DAILY DIGGERS (Kid Dyno) in London hits us with a impressive session of explosive selections on “Antimix Nine”….
If your looking for some groove morale on this Saturday morning, you just found it trooper..
” Scratch Overdose, 12 “
*DST/DXT is not in this film, but this is the first record that I ever cut up so it’s only right that I put it up….
Do yourself a favor and check out this 50 minute French documentary called SCRATCH MUSIC : “Naissance d’un art”…
It gets a little corny at times, but it is definitely worth watching (VIA- MELBOURNEDJ.COM)…
GET YOUR SCRATCH PATTERNS UP !!!
” Midweek Rockets “
Before I even get started I want to send a big shout out to all the daily HIP HOP BATTLEFIELD readers (I see you)..
I could rock a million post per day like many of the blogs out there, but quality control is a big issue on this side so I focus more on the music that I actually like……
PERIOD…
On another note – some of these blog dudes talk major shit, try to play the role of an A&R, and front like they are some type of tastemakers while throwing mad people under the bus, but they never show and prove with their own material…..
It’s real easy to critique motherfuckers when you don’t know what it’s like to be on a stage rocking a mic, or spending mad time in the lab coming up with fresh beats…..I suggest you do a little research on some of these cats to see what they are actually contributing to the artform (YA FEEL ME)….
Anyway, Wildelux and Mac put out a sloid project last year that deserves more attention…”The Masterplan” should help you get your day started on the right footing…

This is the type of mix you have to listen to front to back to fully appreciate……
It sounds as if DJ Dragon spent an enormous amount of time crafting this mega mix because it is loaded with interesting twist and turns, peaks and valleys, and well thought out composition….It reminds me of the type of flavor I used to hear on the KDAY “Mixmaster Show”….

” Under The Radar “
I have never been a fan of the term “RANDOM RAP”….
How about fresh joints that didn’t get a chance to circulate properly….Or maybe “criminally slept on cuts that had limited pressings”….
HAHAHA….
However you label it, “Sloppy White” takes us on a journey of under the radar material that will force you to hit the rewind button…Ruthless Rod, Skinny Boyz, Raw Corp, YZ, Fresh Finesse, Class – A- Felony, and many more get thrown into the mix…
” Motherland Funk Mode “
After a lengthy hiatus the good peoples at VOODOO FUNK recently released a mix full of goodies…If your in the mood for some soul power, quit stalling and do the right thing cuzzo..
” Retro Weirdos “
MCM has been making noise again…After a fifteen year hiatus it appears as if they are gaining momentum in the new millennium…
After taking a look at the jacket in the above pic, I was somewhat enthusiastic for the resurgence of the label….But after spotting Justin Beiber rocking a sky blue joint I knew I would never attempt to cop one for myself…
What’s up with all these retro cornballs trying to flash shit when they weren’t around for the initial splash ?…..
GTFOH!
” Saturday Firepower “
How and the hell did this “MONEY BOSS” mixtape slide past my radar?
You already know how these Bronx Bombers operate : gritty boulevard bully rap, sinister production, with a heavy splash of that BX goodness…BLAM,BLAM,BLAMZ…..

” Live On The Set “
Since it’s Friday it’s only right that I splash ya’ll with a certified Hip Hop treat..Take a listen to this hour and 45 minutes performance of Bumpy Knuckles & Preemo earlier this year in Europe..
I highly recommend that you listen to this start to finish because these two come fully equipped with the heat….
Straight from the boards homeboy…
And while your at it, you might as well swoop up this Bumpy Knuckles mixtape hosted by DJ Premier (Street Triumph)…The Hip Hop Project DJ’s “Monkey” & “Turnaround” handle the deck duties…
” Reading Is Fundamental ”
Remember when the “Source” magazine was halfway credible?
Yeah, don’t front…..You know damn well in the early 90’s they had a decent staff that knew their Hip Hop to some degree…
Back before the internet and file sharing – the “Source” had people glued to their pages internationally…..But once they put “TLC” on the cover, and started heavily promoting cornballs like “MASTER-P”, I turned my back on the magazine forever (no disrespect to Left Eye, but they definitely weren’t a Hip Hop group so I could already detect the fuckery)…..
And once Benzino came in the fold, the original “MIND SQUAD” hit the exit with a quickness just like many of it’s faithful readers……
While at the bookstore the other day I stumbled onto a book by the Source’s former editor-in- chief Kim Osorio…..Normally I avoid this type of shit like the plague, but for some reason I decided to waste five bucks on her “TELL ALL” story….
Just like I suspected : Underhanded business practices, Hip Hop politics, abuse of power, personal agendas, industry rubbish, etc…She even goes into detail about her sexual relationships with Nas, 50 Cent, and several others (talk about conflict of interest)…
If your in the mood to get a inside look into the Source 2000-2005, you might as well scoop this book up….Don’t expect any groundbreaking shit as far as Hip Hop perspectives are concerned – but it is interesting to read about the inner workings of a once great magazine….
