” Head Gear “
To be honest, I never checked for DRE headphones or none of that shit, but these BOOMPHONE joints look right up my alley…
If you think I’m bullshitting, peep for yourself..
” Marco Polo : Newport Authority 2 “
Haven’t listened to this one yet, but if the leaks I heard were any indication of what MARCO POLO had up his sleeves than this should be a enjoyable listen….
I will give you a update once I rock this one in the system…
The Newport Authority 2 album was inspired by politics & industry bullshit that prevented this material from being included on PA2: The Director’s Cut. Shylow and I went in and created a separate album to hold people over until PA2 drops in July. Attached with Intro, interludes and fully mixed & mastered by Joe Nardone. With confidence I can say this is not a mix tape. It will also be available on vinyl LP via Fat Beats for the heads that appreciate physical product, because I still do. I’ve included songs I recorded with legends such as Rakim, Big Daddy Kane, Tragedy Khadafi, Lil Fame and The Artifacts. But, I’ve also got joints on here with some talented up and comers such as First Division, MidaZ and Big Gutta. Plus the shit is free – so enjoy! -Marco Polo
” Hip Hop Morale “
*Above photo – MF GRIMM & my son, JAHMEL (TRACK SUIT DONZ)….
For the last couple weeks I have been smashing up the lab with Percy Carey (MF GRIMM) knocking out the follow up to GOOD MORNING VIETNAM….
If you thought the first one was rugged, the next one is going to make all the Hip Hop weasels out there run for cover….
HAHA.
Even though we are both having fun crafting this project – we are dead serious when it comes to detail, composition, the art of wrecking shit, and preserving a certain frequency of Hip Hop.
KEEP YOUR EYES PEELED FOR “GOOD MORNING VIETNAM 2 – THE GOLDEN TRIANGLE” sooner than later troopers..
Anyway, after a minor delay the “Be Noble / Time” 7 inch is due to be shipped out this Thursday…..Big up to everyone that ordered it we appreciate the support…..These hand numbered, limited edition (250 copies) joints are almost sold out so snatch up a copy while supplies last…
” Rebel INS 2013 “
“I’m with the gunners, the route runners, about numbers / the true thuggers who put muscle to newcomers”..
SAY WORD….
Inspector Deck joins up with RZA’s brother (9th Prince) on “Never,Never” produced by Soul Professor…..
Peep the visuals..
” Comedy Relief “
I’m not sure if you have watched an episode of MASTER OF THE MIX on VH-1, but your probably better off watching a old DMC, or ITF battle if your searching for a decent representation of a Hip Hop DJ….
For the last couple weeks I tuned in just for comedic purposes…
Some of the participants actually have skills (Dynamix,Jayceeoh, and one other cat), but within the confines of the VH-1 machine they are truly unable to showcase their talents..
It’s a shame that things have gotten this ridiculous…..
And just to keep it 100, why and the hell is KID CAPRI co-signing this type of fuckery ? Yeah, I salute the man just like everyone else, but this is just unacceptable for any self-respecting Hip Hop student….PERIOD..
Are you ready for a few hearty laughs ?
” Battlefield Breaks In your Face “
Last year for my birthday I put together a breakbeat mix entitled, “BATTLEFIELD BREAKS”…I tried to assemble a body of heavy open drums, unpredictable composition, and under the radar material…
I even threw in a few of my productions to boost the groove morale levels…
For some reason MEDIAFIRE removed the majority of their links from my site (without a explanation all of the sudden), so it’s only right that I repost this one up for all of those that missed it on the initial splash…..
Big up to everyone that checks in on the daily…I SEE YOU !!!
” Green Llama Shots “
GREEN LLAMA producer Fluent released a compilation of bugged out library records recently that will make your ears perk up….GRANDE SUONI runs about thirty minutes long, and if your on the hunt for some secret society grooves, you just found it trooper.
While your at it take a look at the new visuals for “Till The Sun Comes Up” by Uncut Raw (Fluent and my dude Selfish)….
FRESH IS THE WORD…..
” Lewis Parker On Production “
London beatsmith / MC , LEWIS PARKER returns with “Glass Ceiling 2” on King Underground Records…Guest include Shabaam Sahdeeq, Sadat X, John Robinson, TRAC, etc.
30 tracks deep…..PEEP.
” Breaks For Your Face “
DJ ENKI supplies a session of head nodding breaks on “Break It Down”….
He gets props for taking the time to rock blends – unlike a lot of DJ’s I hear lately…Brace yourself for hefty doses of open drum breaks, soul power, and all that other good shit.
Turn the volume up and catch a zone..
” Joint Of The Day “
Earlier today I listened to this new sure shot from LARGE PRO and Japanese producer, YU MAMIYA…..On “Back and Forth Scrambler” the duo come correct with some 2013 Hip Hop morale for your eardrums….
Don’t sleep.
” 3 Sinister Syllables Mix, Part 1 “
I vividly remember listening to this mix in 2005 and losing my marbles….
It must have taken J-Glaze & Pro Celebrity Golf (yeah, I know those are some jive names) a tremendous amount of time to pull this one off because this mix is heavily layered, unpredictable, and well thought out…
Do yourself a favor and scoop this one up with a quickness homeboy…
” Keep Vinyl Alive “
The good folks over at CHOPPED HERRING are back with more vinyl treats for all the wax enthusiast out there like myself…
