You can still cop a VENDETTA VINYL T-shirt if your seeking out some 2013 Hip Hop morale…..
” Joint Of The Day “
The joint of the day goes out to ZIGG ZAGG ft. SHAQUAN, on the very flavorful “Y=SELF” cut from the “Touch The Sun” EP PT.2 (1992-1994) that dropped awhile back on Chopped Herring Records……
If the name ZIGG ZAGG sounds unfamiliar, he also goes by the name SUN MAGNETIC and he was one half of the duo DYNASTY that dropped a few ill 12inches on Fat Beats in the late 90’s (Poisonous Youth, Wildcat, etc)…
Produced by MIGHTY MAESTRO….
” Drum Mode “
If your a drum addict like Mr. HIP HOP BATTLEFIELD you probably have this Sheffield library record in your stacks (John Keltner – Ron Tutt 1983)….
You won’t hear any vocals, it’s a strictly percussion release that blew my mind when I first copped it because there were so many lines to build from..
Do yourself a favor and swoop this one up if your on the hunt for more drums in your life..
” Body Rockerz “
Even though MELO-D’s “Aqua Boogie” rocks some familiar tunes, the way he trick mixes and flips the tracks will make you appreciate the backyard BBQ, street jam, freak mode frequency….
Summer is not over yet homeboy…
” Kankick On The Remix “
This is the second time I have rocked a KANKICK post within two weeks…He recently dropped a free remix project that should catch your attention.
KANKICK remixes # 2 runs 16 cuts deep….

RESEK getting colorful on the avenue..Couldn’t believe how fast he rocked his outline without breaking a sweat….Dude picked us up in the high-powered, drop top scraper and terrorized the strip with some Indy 500 action…HAHAHA..

My brethren KUFUE ONERZ showing dudes how to rock correctly (he is also the man responsible for the GOOD MORNING VIETNAM cover)…….Words can’t explain how wild this piece is…

My cuzzo REFA ONERZ explosive status……Analyze the skills homeboy..
Another SKEME exclusive on deck…….GOD DAMN…
I could post up flicks all night from the event, but I think you get the point by now; Hip Hop is alive and well in 2013 troopers….

” On The Hunt : Technics SL-700 “
Since the day my three year old son gravitated to my turntables, I have been seriously contemplating getting him his own pair to catch wreck on…
Some cats might think I need to cop him some Fisher Price joints to start on, but Technics are practically unbreakable so these lovely SL-700’s might be the right move for little dude..
The first person that locates them for me will get a special HIP HOP BATTLEFIELD grab bag of all types of fly shit !!!
” Tony Touch – Crate Diggers “
DJ Tony Toca gives us a glimpse into his vinyl collection on Fuse’s superb CRATE DIGGERS series….
” Insight – Speech Puzzle “
Back when I had a radio show in Sacramento, California in the early 2000’s (ROUGHNECK RADIO), I was lucky enough to have INSIGHT on the show….He is a triple threat when it comes to this Hip Hop shit : rhymes, produces, and mixes his own joints…
Haven’t heard much from him after the Y-Society release a few years back, so I was excited when he recently uploaded some new material on his soundcloud page (he hasn’t lost a step)….
CHECK IN….

” Attack Of The Killer Demos, #23 “
It’s been awhile since I hit you with some under the radar demo action, so without further delay here is treat for all those that come through on the daily (I SEE YOU)…
After Cormega came home from a bid upstate in 1995, he hit the lab with Nas & Sly Drama for this “40th Side Of Things” demo that you probably have never heard before…
” Joint Of The Day “
Even though the original version of “Isn’t He Something” is decent enough to bang, the remix by SHOWBIZ is straight up ridiculous….
WOW…
He starts off with a nice 4 bar loop, but as the song progresses he gets busy with the sequences and keeps hitting you over the head with all types of twist and turns, different drum breaks, and funky arrangements….
This is the type of production that convinced me that SHOWBIZ was / is a force to be reckoned with….
*Taken from my vinyl copy of the Slice Of Spice Lord Finesse “FUNKYMAN : THE PREQUEL” release…
