Even though I am 100% B-Boy, I have spent a great amount of time studying HARDCORE punk rock culture (when I say STUDY I’m not referring to a quick Google search – I’m talking about heavy building sessions with BAD BRAINS on their tour bus, decades of record collecting, attending numerous shows, breaking a clowns nose in a early 90’s mosh pit, reading zines, hoarding cassette demos of obscure D-Beat Swedish bands, etc)….

Ever since I was a kid I was attracted to the aggressive, anti-establishment stance that many bands adopted in the 80’s….I’m not talking about goofball bands like Dead Milkmen and Green Day, I’m more into straight ugly bands such as YDI, Totalitar, Mob 47, Rudimentary Peni, and a thousand others that focus on being loud, thought provoking, fast, and absolutely out of control…

As much as I pride myself at being able to go toe to toe with 90 % of the populous in a game of “Hip Hop Jeopardy”, my mental rolodex is also flooded with critical information regarding all things HARDCORE PUNK…
