” Mathematik : Re-Ups “

*Originally posted 1/11
Since it is Sunday it’s only right that I hit you off with some official missiles to help you simmer down from your weekend antics….Toronto’s “Mathematik” deserves more recognition for his impressive style of rhyming……Instead of flipping run of the mill braggadocio type lines – he speaks with substance, agility, and of course 5 % mathematics….
Math was once down with a crew called “Down To Erf” and they released a fresh E.P in 1998 (Rhyme Training) that is worth scooping…..DONT SLEEP.

” Agallah : 2016 Steam “

You have to give AGALLAH props for being able to maintain as long as he has in a unstable Hip Hop climate…From the East / West Record days, to his stint with Purple City, Game Records, and everything else in between up until now – AGALLAH has released a steady stream of material without any signs of slowing down…..
On his latest project BO: “The Legend Of The Water Dragon” he gets loose on the mic and the boards…..
” Vendetta Vinyl Broadcast #5 “

I was recently summoned by the wild dudes over at VENDETTA VINYL headquarters for some 2016 hardcore turntable action…..Lately I have been so entrenched in the production side of things, it was the perfect time to hop on the decks and assemble a dangerous set of grimy selections, remixes, blends, doubles, twist and turns and all that other explosive shit….
The tracklist alone should motivate you to download this session – but their are some tracks that were not mentioned because they were only used as spices and extended layering, so don’t snooze….
Anyway, big shout out to everyone that respects the wreck, it is appreciated to the fullest….Turn the volume past ten, strap on your collision helmets, and prepare for another round of severe pressure on your ear drums duke…
Feel free to spread around-

Former ORGANIZED KONFUSION rhyme slinger Prince Po is the special guest on the “4TH & LONG” podcast tonight 6’clock pacific time….Tune in this evening if you know what’s best for you…
“Ragamuffin Heat On Deck “

I usually listen to a project front to back before I let it fly on the BATTLEFIELD – but I’m 30 minutes into this mix by FILTHY RICH “90’s Reggae Hip Hop” and it seems like he is on the right track…..Blends, explosive selections, accapella flips, etc…..

” Scaramanga : Jabbar El Re-Ups “

I’m not going to mention names, but a couple dudes out there straight up bit Scaramanga’s whole shit….Not just the patterns either..I’m talking about theft of his whole angle..You can’t fool advanced Hip Hop listeners, so knock that shit off and get your own lane together…PLEASE..
Anyway, Scaramanga’s “Jabbar-El E.P.” is an extremely rare release that slipped past many peoples radar when it initially dropped..It’s so obscure that some cats are paying over a hundred dollars for the CD on Ebay…
But since your a dedicated HIP HOP BATTLEFIELD reader you get a special gift today trooper..

” Russian Pressure “

All the way from Russia comes this mix by Mr. And-7 & Murdcod – “Raw Materials”…..If your tired of hearing sessions that rock the same redundant played out breaks – prepare yourself for a heavy dose of freshness….
Catch a groove..

” Ayatollah Shines “

One half of the BOXCUTTER BROTHERS Mr. Ayatollah was recently on the BEE SHINE interview series….Take some time out to peep the jewelry duke….
” K-Def : Unpredictable Gemini “

When K-DEF announced that he was moving away from his MPC to focus more on software programming several years back, I was skeptical…..
WHY?
I’m not going to go into a long tirade on why I personally prefer hardware over software, but I will say that most of the software related program production I have heard tends to sound overly polished….In my opinion – Hip Hop is supposed to sound raw, it’s supposed to reflect the whole “making something out of nothing” DIY aesthetic….
I have been in state of the art studios with every expensive piece of gear imaginable, and sat in on other artist sessions for extended periods of time without hearing anything remotely flavorful or funky…..Some cats believe that if they stay “up to date” with all the new gadgets that somehow their music will become magically better, which is laughable at best…With that being said, I have to admit that after years of tinkering with his newfound approach – K DEF has actually convinced me that you can incorporate old sampling techniques and make them cleaner and bigger without sacrificing that “GRIT”…….
On “Unpredictable Gemini” KD displays a mastery of sonic engineering (listen to this on headphones if you think I’m bullshitting), cracking drums, layering, EQing, and all types of other shit that will make any self respecting producer wonder, “how in the fuck did he do that”?
Is it a perfect album, no….Is it something I will play all the time, no…But did he pull of some amazing shit that has yet to be done in this world of creative sampling – the answer is simply, YES…..
” Beneficence : Basement Chemistry “

I gave BENEFICENCE’s newest offering “Basement Chemistry” some decent burn earlier today…He brings Inspector Deck, Masta Ace, AG, Dres, The Legion, and Chubb Rock into the mix for another round of 2016 vinyl treats…..Out now on ILL ADRENALINE…
HIP HOP TOP PICKS – “Anyway It Goes”, “Smooth Hardcore”, “Against The Grain”, “Blast This Shit”, and “Make It Hot”…….
” Royal Flush Speaks “

ROYAL FLUSH is the special guest on the latest episode of the FOURTH AND LONG podcast…..He goes into detail about his dealings with IRV GOTTI, unreleased material with MIC GERONIMO, upcoming projects, BLUNT / TVT Records, his past beef with FREAKY TAH, and all types of other shit that should hold your attention….Running Time 1:15:00.
” Blaq Poet Heaterz “

Out of all the collaborations and projects PREMIER has dropped since the untimely passing of GURU – the “BLAQPRINT” with Queensbridge rhyme slayer BLAQ POET is at the top of the list for me (KOLEXXXION with Bumpy Knuckles gets a close second place)…..
It has been seven years since that album came out…..
I’m not quite sure what transpired between the two, but at this point it appears as if we won’t hear a BLAQPRINT 2…..My dude out in Sweden CLAAA7 took it upon himself to delve into the PREMIER & BLAQ POET files to assemble a collection of non album joints from the duo…..
