"King Yellowman"

I was just talking to my peoples {ShyeerAllah}, and I told him ‘Yellowman”, is coming to town……..He tried to crack jokes on “Yellowman”, and said “He didn’t know too much about him”………………..For the record, “Yellowman’ is no joke……..After Bob Marley died “Yellowman” hit the scene, and became Jamaica’s biggest artist 82-85……….He was born as a albino, and concidered a outcast………But that didn’t prevent him from displaying his natural talent {mic wrecking}…………..Sunsplash wouldn’t have been Sunsplash, without “Yellowman”……..”Sting” wouldn’t be “Sting”, without “Yellowman”………..And their is no way dancehall would be what it is today without “King Yelloman’…………….Check his album with “Fathead”, it is a essential example of mic control, breath control, and crowd control………Also “Yellowman” has been sampled by countless Hip Hop producers…”Dr.Dre” sampled him on “Nobody Move”….Nice and Smooth on “Zunga Zeng”, I will just stop there…………….Respect….
"Hip Hop Battlefield–Top Ten"

You know what it is…….And if you don’t, you are about to know……..These are my top ten joints in my I-Pod……Yeah duke, I buy records but I still freak my I-Pod……..Some joints are new, and some older, but all of them are flavorful………P.S. To that sneaky ass coward who stole my last I-Pod, get ready for some black anger………. Bitch……….{In no particluar order}
1. Muggs and Asia–“Pain Languge”—–Music to set off a bloody fight….Asia sounds real good on this type of production…Pow…Pow..

Trying To Keep Vinyl Alive

On a recent trip to my favorite record store {Amoeba Records}, I was astonished at the lack of current Hip Hop 12 inches………..This had never happened before…..I have been going there on a constant since 1999, and I alway’s walked out of there with a gang of new shit……..I know, I know, your probably thinking why and the hell is this fool still buying records?……It’s because my father was a D.J., and I have a sentimental relationship with wax………..And it just sounds better than Serato to me…If I didn’t have between 8000-10,000 {stopped counting} records to fuck around with, Serato would of been my obvious alternative………..This is no diss to my Serato rocking D.J.’s……..Some of my closest friends are monsters on that Serato shit…….I just never really felt the need to abandon certain traditions that were passed down to me {Diggin}………..But if my last trip 2 “Amoeba”, is a indicator of what’s to come………”Mr Keep Vinyl Alive”, might have to rethink some things…………………
"Ayatollah Interview"

Ayatollah is a very underrated producer………..I can’t seem to figure out why, because the brother has released some serious heat over the years……..From his work with “Tragedy” and “Imam Thug”………..To his work with ‘Mos Def”, and many others….Ayatollah has always kept it gritty……………..Salute…Check for his new album coming out September 30, entitled “Drum Machine”…..
"Jay Dilla -BBC Radio One London, 2001"

First of all I gotta say R.I.P. J-Dilla…………………..And the last thing I have to say is, this is simply incredible…………..
"Piss On Your Face" {R.Kelly…Weirdo Brother Edition}

What the fuck is going on with these R N B cats these days? ….. I miss singers like “Marvin Gaye”, “Al Green”, “Teddy Pendegrass”, etc……….These new singing cats just beg for the booty with no class whatsoever………In my opinion your boy R. Kelly stole Aaron Hall’s whole shit…….Voice, image, style, everything………………..Anyway Funk Master Flex has some angry words for Mr.Kels………….And even though Flex is known for accepting payola, I agree with him on this issue………………..Bang, bang

"Heavy Mental"

If you have been following Hip Hop Battlefield, you know I speak very highly of a brother by the name of “Black Dot”…….He used to be down with Tim Dog back in the days…………And since then he has released a couple books, D.V.D.’s, and has lectured extensively throughout the U.S………….Peep Black Dot in action….
"D.J. Supreme and Jake One, Are The Conmen"….

Seattle’s ‘Conmen”, put out various breakbeat/raregroove mixtapes in the late 90’s and early 2000’s………..Kon and Amir, Chemist, Shadow, Daddy Long Legs, Soulman, and many others put out similiar mixes, but the ‘Conmen” always put a unique twist on their joints……….And in terms of obscurity, the records they flipped were as rare as they come………..Salute to the “Conmen”, for keeping it official………..Extra special thanks to my dude “Talk Sick’, for looking out…….Blam Blam……
"Xecutioners New Generation"

Boogie Blind along with D.J. Precision are the “Xecutioners” new recruits…….And ever since they got down with the crew, they have been destroying the competition…….In 2007 “Precision”, went on to capture the D.M.C. title belt………..And Boogie Blind is Vestax’s 2001 battle champion…………..Check them out below, and get your practice on……
"New Green Llama Shit"

This is some new shit by “Decay”, featuring {Selfish, Butter Verses, and Tone Liv}………..It’s called “Easy”, and it is produced by Chi-Town’s “Selfish”………….You can download Decay’s “Unlikely Villain” album as well at http://www.zshare.net/download/1020739833f616a7

"Beat You Over The Head" {Remix Sessions}……..

It’s time for me to bless ya’ll with some more beats……….The first one is a interesting remix for sure, one of my personal favorites…………..I took a “Digable Planets” accapella, and threw it over a beat that will keep your head nodding……{top 10 beats I have ever put together, in my opinion}……….Next in line is a “Large Pro”, flip………Following that is beat I put together awhile back for a horror movie due out sometime soon…..{Suprise}……..
"Where The Fuck Is Little John"?

When your sidekicks are known as “Big Sam” and “Little Bo”, you should already know your shining time is limited………..In today’s Hip Hop landscape, crews come and go like a common cold………..But one of the most annoying motherfuckers to ever disgrace a microphone had to be “Little John”…………Fools everywhere were yelling “what”, and “yeeeeeeaah” like Little John was one of their family members……..And who can forget “Dave Chappelle’s” parody of the brother on his short lived comedy series?………………….Anyway, goodbye Little John, you have already been replaced by a gang of other corny motherfuckers……….
