" New Preemo Heat "
This new joint by ” Flipsyde ” , { Long Time Coming } features one of ” Preem’s ” more minimal approaches….Sparse piano stabs, lace a skeleton of a beat, which allow you to focus on what the mc’s are spitting….I am kinda feeling this shit..

" 4 All You MPC Fanatics "
I know, I know, I know….This MPC worship shit is going a little too far….MPC shirts, MPC battery powered samplers, MPC groupies, MPC acrobats, MPC sap suckers…..And the best one yet folks, the MPC ring…..And you better believe I am on a mission to cop one right now..{ Seriously }…Bill McMullen is the designer of it, and he has plenty of other fresh ideas..

" More Mixtape Shit, D.V. One Edition "
Rock Steady Crew D. J. ” D.V One “, has a gang of mixtapes available for download on his blog…..And in case you are not familiar with ” D. V. “, he has been a popular D. J. in the Seattle area since the early 90’s….A couple years back, he rallied his Seattle community in a effort to combat police brutality, after he fell victim to a physical attack at the hands of the Seattle P.D. " Termanology And Statik Selektah Mixtape "
This { 50 Bodies 2 } mixtape came out in October of 08, and I haven’t had the chance to listen to it until recently….And after digesting the whole joint in it’s entirety, I have to give it dap….” Statik Selektah ” and ” D.J Deadeye ” keep the vibes flowing, by making sure the mixes are on point….Check in 4 yourself homeboy…

" Remix Grenades ", Joey Crack Edition…
What and the fuck happened to ” Fat Joe, The Gangster ” ?…….Instead of rocking over ” Showbiz ” beats, or ” Diamond D ” joints, he has opted time and time again to rhyme over some horrendous production…..Last year he broke away from this usual pattern, and blessed a ” D.J. Premier ” track, { Thank God 4 That White } which came out pretty fresh…Even though the majority of his original fan base probably turned their backs on him a long time ago, I still think ” Don Cartegena ” has it in him……I guarantee you that if he did a whole album with ” DITC “, he would sound the way he is supposed to sound, { RAW }
Below are a couple remixes I flipped…The first one is a Fat Joe joint that is pretty angry…..The second flip is a ” Tim Dog ” banger that is even angrier……Pow…Pow…..
" Tony Starks, Beat Junkies Collabo "
I received this ” D.J. Rhettmatic ” mixtape this morning, and after listening to it from start to finish, I have to give it the thumbs up….For all you cats that follow the ” Beat Junkies “, you know how they get down…..Doubles, blends, nasty scratches, basically doing what a D.J. is SUPPOSED to do { but extremely well } …..This mix is over an hour long, which makes it perfect for winter traveling…..This is what ” Rhettmatic ” had to say regarding the project….
Peace Everyone,
It’s the day of Christmas Eve and I just wanted to give y’all one more treat for the holidays.
This particular mix is called “36 DEADLY DARTS”….it’s the official “Ghostface Killah Doll” Mix CD; well, it’s supposed to be. Amish from 4Cast Unlimited reached out to me last year to make a mix with a collection of Ghostface songs that would be an accompaniment to the limited edition doll. A least 1,000 CDs were made; half Amish would pass out during the clothing trade shows such as Magic, the other half, I would sell while I was on the road. There were actually some Ghostface dolls made (and btw, they look dope, considering how expensive it was…i think retail was going for $200. The doll had a real Gold Chain.) The last time I heard, it was in production.
Anyways, there was a buzz for the doll and I actually got a thumbs up from Ghostface for the mix, but for some reason, I don’t think the official doll ever came out, nor the mix CD. It’s been over a year and I haven’t heard anything official of the release of the doll or the CD, so I decided, why not share it with you good peoples…..I really like the mix and I really put some work into this. It would be nice to have people actually hear it. If some of you good peoples actually have the official Mix CD with the official artwork and all, consider yourself lucky!
So everybody, download the mix, share it with your friends, post it up on your music blogs (sorry Shake, 4Cast did the mixtape in conjunction with HipHopGame when it was supposed to come out, that’s why you hear those HipHopGame drops….), & hopefully yall would like the mix.
Thanks for peeping out this mix as well as the KDAY mixes and the Khrysis mixtape. Happy Holidays peoples…see you in 2009!

" Hollywood Hav Mixtape "
There was a time when ” Havoc ” was on everyone’s top ten producers list…But somewhere after ” Hell On Earth “, the bulk of ” Mobb Deep’s ” production duties got handed over to the ” Alchemist “….That move always seemed strange to me, because Havoc was no slouch on the beats….Your talking about a dude that crafted ” Shook Ones ” , ” Survival Of The Fittest ” , and a gang of other classic beats that your probably aware of…..When I first heard that ” Hav ” was releasing a solo album { The Kush }, I was expecting him to pull out all the stops….Somehow it didn’t measure up to my expectations, due to the strange, synth heavy sound he chose to roll with { suprisingly }…
But the ” Forced To Go Solo ” mixtape, showcases some of ” Hav’s ” heaviest joints, this should hold you over until he releases the ” Hidden Files ” in early Febuary…

" Inside The Laboratory "
At this point in my life, my record collection is the most expensive thing that I own …..If you ever stepped foot in my crib, the first thing you would notice is the over abundance of vinyl in every direction…A common question I hear is, ” How and the hell do you make beats here, your records are taking up all the space ” ?….Or….” Do you really need all these records ” ?….And my personal favorite, ” What the fuck are you gonna do when you have to move ” ?…..To set the record straight folks, I am still searching for that perfect beat….It’s a life long quest, a life long commitment, a life long drive to unveil that old dusty magic…
And on that note, ” Behind The Beat ” { Ginko Press } is a interesting book indeed…..You get a inside glimpse into the home studios of Madlib, DJ Shadow, Spinna, Thes One, Beatminerz, Fat Jack, and Premier just to name a few…The books author { Rafael Rashid } , deserves much props for bringing something different to the coffee table….2 Thumbs up
