" New Showbiz & A.G. "
I’m definitely feeling this song (God Is Force) more than the last leak from Mugshot Music, “Suspended Animation”…….The motherfuckin DITC bronx bombers are back motherfucker….
Turn the volume up a notch….
“God Is Force” produced by Showbiz..
" High Powered Breaks "
After checking out DJ Bles’s set up in Seattle for Might 4 a couple year back, I knew he was a forced to be reckoned with….Instead of wasting time behind the decks he set it off with a barrage of intense drums, nice composition, and well placed quick scratches…
On this breaks mix from 2010 (Soulwalking) he keeps it extra fresh…Seriously..
DO NOT SLEEP…
What up to all my people in the 206, and R.I.P. to my dude “Talksick”, we miss you homeboy….
" More Crate Damage"
” I walk with a bop give a fuck about a cop / want hundreds in my knot, smoke chocolate pot, live on a rotten metropolis block/ with the same old monotonous plot, to get money “…
Try saying that shit fast ten times in a row if you can……HAHAHA….
While diggin through the stacks I came across a record that I haven’t listened to in mad long…….Baby J featuring the A-Alikes “Walk With A Bop”…..This song brings back memories for me because I used to rock it nonstop….
Ill keys chopped up, a haunting voice floating over the track, and aggressive bars = WIN……..
The A-Alikes are still doing their thing these days with the Dead Prez (RBG) camp, but they decided to switch up the production which hasn’t suited them well in my opinion…..
I wish they would go back to rhyming over beats like this…….1998 Bomb Hip Hop Records..
“Walk With A Bop”
" Funk Mode Status "
Yeah, this is more like it….
This is DJ Expo’s set (December 2009) from the infamous funk party in Las Vegas (The Get Back)…….Instead of playing random joints, Expo actually took the time to blend most of the tracks which automatically caught my attention….
Monday is here already, so look alive and catch a motherfuckin groove if you know what’s best for you….
" Guilty Shit "
Here is a fresh joint from Detroit rhyme slayer Guilty Simpson that you might have missed, “Acquired Taste” produced by Metro with DJ Twister on the scratches……
Simple, effective, and all that other fly shit….
CHECK IN……
" Under The Radar Rockets "
DJ S-Rock brings some obscure vinyl cuts to the table on “Hard To Find Volume 6″……..Over two hours of slept-on body rockers trooper….
Turn the volume up and prepare for heavy turbulence…

" Coke La Rock Speaks "
It’s puzzling that so many artist can flourish within this art form without any real knowledge of Hip Hop history….Matter of fact, it’s downright disrespectful that dudes can parade around, make money, talk mad shit, and not have any idea who laid down the proper foundation for them to eat off of years later….
That’s why this clip with “Coke La Rock” is essential viewing for any dedicated student…..
Respect the architects…..
" Stand Up It’s Killer Ben "
Killa Ben has a new mixtape out on the set (The Mechanic) that had a couple heaters on it……..If you are looking for some hardcore ammo for your weekend festivities, CHECK IN TROOPER……
“Hard Times”
“Four School Sun”
" Fresh Is The Word, Part 6 "
In my opinion the “Memphis Sessions Re-mixed” is the best comprehensive showcase of AZ’s skills….I can listen to it from start to finish without hitting the fast forward button….
When this first came out a few years back it didn’t make the noise that it truly deserved unfortunately……
AZ has one of the best flows in the game, but his beat selection skills are somewhat questionable, so it made perfect sense for Drew Kelly (DJ Unknown) to remix some of his songs and take it to another level……
All Al Green samples, all flavor, all fresh…..
" For Those That Like To Groove, Part 22 "
It’s crazy to think that Sam Sever’s group “Downtown Science” were briefly signed to Def Jam (Damn, things have changed over there for the worse)….
Anyway, Sam has carved out a nice place for himself in the Hip Hop history books : Not only was he the DJ for the Beastie Boys in the classic “Tougher Than Leather” movie, he also produced for Ms. Melody, 3rd Bass, Run-DMC, etc…….
He recently popped up EVR for a session packed with classic joints, breaks, and all that other good shit…..
* Don’t be alarmed by the awkward first couple minutes, things start cooking in no time…..
" Grap Luva Rockets "
Pete Rocks brother Grap Luva has a couple tricks up his sleeve for 2011……
NICE…..

WHAT PART OF THE GAME IS THIS ?
To be honest, I shouldn’t even waste my time writing about this shit because I know deep down no one cares….But if I don’t speak my mind I would be a fuckin herb….
So here we go folks………Rolling Stone Magazine (Which is not even half-way credible in the Hip Hop world) recently claimed that Eminem is the “King of Hip Hop”…….I’m quite sure the BATTLEFIELD readers know this false claim is purely ridiculous, but the younger generation are easily persuaded to subscribe to this type of thinking if they do not have the proper influences around them (FEEL ME)….
In the early stages of Em’s career I thought he sounded like a hybrid of Chino XL, Masta Ace, with a sprinkle of Young Zee or even Pace One……He had a couple clever punchlines, but I was never a fan……His voice was/is crazy annoying, most of the beats he rocked over were/are second rate, and I grew tired of his material instantly…..
Some of you might think I’m bugging……”Aww, Drasar doesn’t fuck with Em because he is white”…….”That Battlefield dude is playing the race card”…….”Eminem is the best MC, Drasar is a hater”…..
Nah brother, skills are skills regardless of race, sex, or anything else…….I’m just not feeling his whole steez…..And if you listen to his newer material it is obvious he has ran his course with this rap shit, but what really pisses me off is that NO ONE mentions that bullshit, full of racial epithets demo your boy Marshall put together in the mid-90’s…..
NO ONE talks about that shit…..How could the so-called “King of Hip Hop” speak so disrespectfully about black people and get away with it without some real repercussions ?
“Foolish Pride”
He can try to claim that he was a drunk youngster when he wrote that song, but I’m not falling for any of that bullshit homeboy…..Not back then, not now, and I never will….
GET THE FUCK OUT OF HERE !!!!!!!!!!!!
" New Shit On Deck "
Recently stumbled onto this new cut with Cash Bilz, Nice, and Mobb Deep’s Havoc entitled, “3 The Hard Way”…….Havoc steals the show with rhymes like, “I don’t give a fuck even in the middle of a nut / let me find out your out here I’m going to get a nigga stuck”…..
Nothing too crazy, but perfect for some mixtape/mixshow burn………Produced by Havoc…..
