" Artifacts 2012 "
This is the first official retail release from those New Jersey dudes the “Artifacts” in over fifteen years…..DAMN..
It’s crazy how time flies…..On this brand spanking new joint they rock over production from Khrysis (Justice League) with cuts from DJ Dutchmaster…
Hopefully the duo have a full length in the works..
PEEP..
" Drasar Remix Re-Post "
* In the above pic Kufue Onerz and myself cold chilling after he finished his piece, which is very ill by the way….Originally posted 12/20/2010..
Over the years I have hit ya’ll with a healthy helping of remixes……If you have paid close attention you would notice that my production palette consist of many different colors….Instead of resting on my laurels I try my hardest to push the boundries of my ever expanding record collection….
Anyway, Defenders Of The Faith (Checkmate & Concise) are a duo from Vancouver, British Columbia that deserve more recognition for their brand of heat….Back in 2000 they put out Bait & Switch b/w These Days & Times on their own “Double Up” record label….
These Days & Times was the winner for me……Production by Mr. Attic (Grassroots) with extra swift scratches by Lil Jaz (Remember him ?)…….Over the years they have put out many singles, mixtapes, and an album or two…..I’m surprised more cats in the States aren’t aware of them, because when I headed up to Vancouver a year ago, they were a household name…..
I decided to give them the remix face-lift, and add my own grime to the mix………Things got so out of hand that the motherfuckin electricity went out (Seriously)…..
Once the power was restored, I had to start from scratch and try to put the production puzzle back together………MISSION ACCOMPLISHED…….
So strap on your parachute, lace up those combat boots, tighten up your war goggles- I’M GOING IN !!!
* If you have wack computer speakers you are not going to hear the low end science properly……
Take a listen- “These Days & Times”- Drasar Monumental Remix…
And just to keep it 100- Here is a video from the Defenders, “Make Money-2009″…….VANCITY STAND UP..
" Hip Hop Treats "
Now this is what you call a complete package….
If you order one of the limited vinyl presses of Fred Beanz newest single “What It Is”, you get a T-Shirt designed by the Bronx Bomber Mr. T.R. Love (peep the above flick)…..I can’t even front, the shirt alone is already worth the cheese if you ask me !!!
Big up to KOTB for making it happen.
" New Shit On Deck "
Big Diamond D is back on the set with more goodies for all you die-hard DITC fans like myself…..”Deflate Cha” features a inspired D on the boards and on the mic device…
YOU KNOW THE DRILL COUSIN…
" For Those That Like To Groove, Part 36 "
What’s going on out there HIP HOP BATTLEFIELD posse ?
Is this work week wearing you the fuck out ?….I feel you, it’s times like these that I turn off the cell phone and turn the volume up on the sound system to drown out all the nonsense that the daily grind throws in my direction…
“FTTLTG” is 36 chapters deep at this point….DAMN..
And in case you didn’t know my inspiration for this segment came from those New Jersey brothers Twin Hype….On their first album they had a fresh song called “For Those That Like To Groove”, so I decided to keep that spirit alive by adding on…
This time around the good folks over at Voodoo Funk splash the set with a Nigerian funk mix….Over an hour of body rockers troop !!!
" Download Status "
Since I already posted up two DJ Calhoun mixes in the last couple months, I might as well slap you with another one…
The “79 MN Zoo Mix” features over an hour of nonstop blazers that will catch your attention….Doubles, cuts, and under the radar selections is the Modus Operandi folks…
" Mid Week Rockets "
Former Def Jukie “Masai Bey” is in a class by himself when it comes to flipping bars….
Seriously…….
I can’t think of anyone out there that sounds remotely close to what he is doing…On “Panacea Goldmine” the bugged out frequencies reach an all time high….
PEEP..
Produced and written by Masai Bey for Masai Bey Music (ASCAP). All tracks recorded and mixed by Khem at ABZU, except tracks 11 & 12 which were recorded and mixed by Steve Z. and BMS @ Ecstatica. Additional audio work was done to all tracks by Nasa @ Nasa Labs. Turntables by Khem and Masai Bey.
" Lord Jamar : NY Times "
Lord Jamar & Lord Superb team up for a little 2012 Hip Hop morale on “NY Times”…..
Glad to see these two lords connect…..
Produced by Big Throwback.
" Golden State Warriors, Part 4 "
It’s a crying shame that Fishbone haven’t received the accolades that they deserve….
After 25 years in the music BUSINESS, countless tours, and major label support in the beginning of their career, the band still remains under the radar somewhat…..So many groups copied their whole steez and reaped huge benefits without paying proper homage…
What does this have to do with Hip Hop you might ask yourself ?
1..Fishbone have maintained their initial anti mainstream stance….
2..Instead of falling victim to current trends, the band still unleashes their form of original music..
3..They truly do not give a fuck (sounds like Hip Hop to me)….
Just peeped their documentary “Everyday Sunshine” and it instantly put me in a heavy trance…….I highly suggest that you track down a copy if you know what’s best for you…
" Tuesday Rockets "
Six Two Six are back with more fresh vinyl for you to cop…Big up to my dude “Set Rule” out in BODYMORE!!!!

" Monday Night Live "
If you want me to check your demos, beats, rhymes, flicks, or hate mail, you can send it to ZJUDAH @YAHOO.COM….
No politicks, or any of that other new age bullshit – if I like it you will get some well deserved burn on the battlefield folks and that’s a promise….
Anyway, since it’s Monday night and I’m in a groovy mood I might as well hit you with some certified firepower….Chicago Gangsters “Michigan Avenue”…
BLAM, BLAMZ…
" Joint Of The Day "
Cuban Linx 2, War Report 2, and now Doe Or Die 2 ya’ll….
Some dudes dismiss sequels on general principle, but I’m not complaining one bit, especially when A.Z. manhandles a Buckwild production like this with the greatest of ease…
“My Niggas” is the first official leak from Doe Or Die 2…..DONT SLEEP.
" Inspector Deck : Are You Listening 2 "
Rebel INS AKA Inspector Deck steps away from the mic for a second and rocks his sampler on his latest beat excursion, “Are You Listening 2″….There were a couple joints on this that caught me by surprise..
HIP HOP BATTLEFIELD TOP PICKS-
“AAAAH”, “Hold On”, “Lamont Sanford”, “R U Serious”, and “Wrong Guy”…
" New Shit On Deck "
Former Rubberoom member Lumba Blackwood is back in the lab churning out new material…Out of the three most recent cuts that he dropped, the Grant Parks produced “Madness” is my personal top pick…
Glad to see that this Chicago ruckus bringer is still keeping those flames burning..Be on the lookout for his upcoming LP “Bangs Basics” on Coalmine Records sometime this spring..
