” Hip Hop Battlefield Goes To Brazil, Part 12 “
When it comes to quality groove consistency “AZYMUTH” deserve to be mentioned….
From 1972 up until now – the trio has released over thirty albums that are packed with explosive material…..For instance, on this live recording from 1979 (Copacabana Palace) they keep it extra flavorful..
” Wu Block Shot “
Finally got around to checking that “WU-BLOCK” mixtape last night….The bar game was decent, but the production was loaded with deficiencies in my opinion….
I will keep my fingers crossed when the full length drops…..
HIP HOP BATTLEFIELD TOP PICK – “The Heist”…
” Live From HQ – June 29th “
I’m quite sure many of my HIP HOP HOP BATTLEFIELD readers have peeped the excellent “Demolition Mix” by JS-1…..Now is your chance to swoop up a mix he did while filling in for Preemo on “LFHQ” 06/29/12…

” Sample Source Shit “
7L takes us on a journey through sound with this Stussy mix that rocks strictly sample source material…..
Almost an hour of name that tune….HAHA..
” Aerosoul 3 Flicks “
Sometimes I wish that I kept a camera on me back in the day….The craziest shit could have been captured on Kodak film, but for some reason I thought those times would last forever so I didn’t snap as many flicks as I should have..
I also didn’t want to be “THE GUY” that intrudes on motherfuckers by constantly snapping away at the action (YA HEARD)….
Anyway, the weekend before last I trooped out to the Aerosoul 3 event to spin, crack jokes, analyze the handstyles, pay homage, and bang out with my peoples….
YES, I did bring my camera along so peep the visuals homeboy!!!!
MODE 2 – (CA)..
Yeah, the motherfuckin character killer in the place to be….You already know what it is, so you don’t need me to tell you.
SLAVE (TF5)..
King status and still wrecking……An honor to watch him paint and do his thing…
CHAIN 3 – (TMT)
A true style general…..And to this day dude is nice with the hands and the mic device….He even busted a few bars to keep everyone on their toes…HAHAHA….
RESEK – (MTA)
Resek is a straight up Hip Hop head that knows his graff as well as his music…..The piece he was working on was starting to look very dangerous…
SKEME – (TMT)…
You know I had to get my blackbook signed by the OG….Dude was hella cool and down to earth..
TEAN – (TMT)……
Wow….If you don’t know, now you should know…Some brothers out there aren’t playing fuckin games…
SOMEONE FROM THE UTI CREW – I’m really feeling the heavy shading on this one….If this is pencil, they deserve a double salute…
REFA ONERZ – (TNS).
Say word…..Brother Refa bringing the drama hard body….
DRASAR MONUMENTAL – (NS/HR/GBK)
Yeah holmes that’s MR. HIP HOP BATTLEFIELD slicing up the wax….HAHAHA…(Artifacts “C’mon With The Get Down” remix on the left side – Large Pro & J Love “Cool” on the right)..
” Comedy Relief, Part 7 “
If your in the mood for a hearty laugh – I highly suggest you tune into the “CHOCOLATE MILK & TACOS” podcast with Tonedeff, Pack FM, and special guest the hilarious J-Zone…
Over an hour of nonstop shenanigans…
” Salute “
A major shout out goes to my comrade “KHUFU ONERZ”, for designing this fly Buddy Esquiresque flyer for the Aerosoul 3 jam that took place a couple weeks ago….
Salute my brother…
Be on the lookout for the flicks from that event later on today…

” Sean Price : Fuck Outta Here Mixtape 2 “
As we wait patiently for the release of “Mic Tyson”, here is a new mixtape by Thomas Handsome (not digging the name duke) featuring nonstop Sean Price cuts…
29 joints deep of hardrock BK steamerz…
” Debonair P On the Remix “
Last year I posted up this fresh remix project from Australian producer “Debonair P”, but the link is dead so it’s only right that I repost it for all of those who slept…
He has a straight forward style of making beats…Instead of trying to make his sampler do backflips (less is more in my opinion) he keeps the groove right in the pocket with a nice splash of well though out scratch sentences….
HIP HOP BATTLEFIELD TOP PICKS-
Tribal Men, Steve Colossal, High Tech, and Monk With The Funk…
” Alchemist On KCRW Radio “
Fresh off the heels of the “Russian Roulette” release, your boy ALCHEMIST takes over the airwaves on KCRW for a thirty minute broadcast…
You will hear all types of sample source material to some of his best productions…
CHECK IN..
” Give The Drummer Some “
My comrade over in London “Kid Dyno”, just dropped this collection of funky body rockers….”Give The Drummer Some” will help get your weekend started on the right footing..
I also have to send KD a shout out for giving me some shines in the linear notes…..
Peep what he had to say regarding this session..
“As we hit the 5 year mark here on DAILY DIGGERS, I’m just finishing up a beat mix to celebrate the anniversary of this blog. And you know I’m always messing with beats on the daily, so this is more like a fly on the wall insight into what comes out the woofers and tweeters in the DAILY DIGGERS HQ. Hold on to your Kangol, your snapback, your fisherman hat, whatever….you know the beats will be certified dope. Stay tuned”.
” Welcome To The Terrordome, Part 2 “
Alright BATTLEFIELD posse here we go…..
Shit is finally up and running and things are about to get dangerous over here on this side of things….I’m still working out a few kinks, but everything should be extra buttery by Monday….
I just got back from spinning at the “Aerosoul” jam in SF so it’s needless to say that a brother is extremely “TURNED UP” right now……
HAHAHAHA…
So get your mind right and prepare yourself for a new chapter of BATTLEFIELD pressure homeboy…
WORD LIFE-
D
” Joint Of The Day “
“>
Today what I have here is a certified scorcher for the BATTLEFIELD posse…
It’s almost impossible to find much info about Lazy Laz & his DJ Monty D on the net, but I do know that the “Bumrush” label that put this out was underneath the First Priority umbrella (Audio Two co-produced this which makes perfect sense)….
1989 illness indeed !!!
" Midweek Flavors "
DJ Wicked (who also put together the very fresh Buckwild comprehensive mix & the Bay area 90’s mix) sticks to the concept formula for this monster session of Extra-P goodness..
