” New Shit On Deck “
Contrary to popular belief, Hip Hop is alive and well in 2012….I’m constantly hearing new joints that provide decent head nods…
Give a listen to this new cut by Jon Quest & Hubbs “BAR BURYIN”…Produced by Drumz & Lingo, Mastered by Lewis Parker…And for all you vinyl junkies out there – SLICE OF SPICE RECORDS currently has pre-orders available…
CHECK IN….
” The Personal Album “
When I ask die hard Kool Keith fans about the mysterious “PERSONAL ALBUM”, many of them have no clue of what I’m talking about…A thousand hand-signed CD copies were pressed up in 2004 to sell at various concert dates in 2004…
Yesterday I spotted a copy on Discogs for three hundred dollars (CRAZY)…Instead of breaking your piggy bank to cop, you can just swoop up one of “KK’s” most hilarious albums here on the low (yeah, some of these beats are horrible, but I stopped listening for beats on KK’s projects since the MASTERS OF ILLUSION album, but there are some funny bars to make you crack up) …..HAHAHA..

” Lick Shots “
It’s a crying shame that cornball groups like NO DOUBT & THE MIGHTY BOSSTONES recieved all types of accolades, while pioneers like Desmond Dekker remain shrouded in obscurity…
So I’m going to hit ya’ll with some official RUDEBOY 101 type shit…
TRIGGAFINGA INTL “Confession Volume 1 ” runs the gamut when it comes to explosive ska grooves…..Do yourself a favor and put your trigger fingers in the air and scoop this one up trooper…
” DJ Premier vs. Pete Rock “
Dj Premier & Pete Rock will be hitting San Francisco on the 7th of September for a night of Hip Hop morale in the bay…..The crew and I will be in attendance getting rowdy like a motherfucker…
If your in the vicinity, you already the drill….
* On another note, when are we going to get that album fellas…HAHA..
” Debonair – P On The Mix “
Straight from Australia comes this mix from that dude DEBONAIR P….You have probably heard how fresh he is on the production side of things, now you can peep his blend game….
Over two hours of head nodders…..
“First up, thanks everyone who picked up the Global Platoon ‘G8 Summit’ EP, all the feedback I’ve received on this release has been great! It’s been a while since I posted up a megamix… as a challenge to myself, I tried my hand at making a mix using only tracks from 2000 onward (well, there are a couple of joints from ’99.) A lot of the tracks on this megamix are personal faves from the past years, often overlooked, so hopefully you hear something new on this one”.

” Mile High Wreckage “
*Piece rocked by my cuzzo CULPA PFE….
If your in the Colorado area this weekend, the annual Colorado Crush Graff block party is popping off….
” Blog Shots 68 “
To be honest, I catch most of my records the old fashioned way : at motherfucking record stores…
Digital digging just isn’t fun for me….I would rather be in a spot at the listening booth, chopping it up with the store owners, flipping through the stacks, and channelling the Hip Hop spirits as I go through my mental rolodex to find what I’m looking for..
HAHA….
Out of my whole collection, only five records were bought through the aid of the internet….I don’t diss cats that cop digitally, but for me, “DIGGIN IN THE CRATES” is a way of life….
Every year I travel up to Vancouver, Canada to dig at my main man Dave Jones record store, “VINYL RECORDS”…..Please don’t be fooled by the non-descriptive name because when it comes to fresh vinyl, he is HOLDING…..
” Roc Marcy Shots “
It’s crazy how much of an impact ROC MARCIANO has been able to pull off in the last couple years, but don’t get it twisted, this Long Island rhyme slinger is far from a new jack….
When he was rocking with the UN he was just as dangerous…
My only worry is that with all the features he has done recently – I’m curious to see if he has enough gas in his tank for his upcoming album “Reloaded” in November…..Only time will tell..
Until then, scoop up this batch of Roc Marcy joints to keep your ear drums ringing (Don Status)…
* On a side note – when are we going to hear Roc destroying P. Brothers production again ?

” Chicago Graff History 101 “
* In the above photo – Orko, Slang, and Trixter, 1988.
My dude from Chi-Town ,”MATT ROCKERZ” put me up on this ill Chicago documentary that he was involved with a couple years ago while I was visiting the Windy City…
“Write On Stuff” is flooded with Chicago graff jewelry, so all you Hip Hop students out there make sure you pay close attention..
Instead of fully describing the science – I will allow one of the makers of the film (Mark Rosengren) to break it down for you…
“From within the vast depths of Chicago’s graffiti culture, the artists who took part in this massive movement give a unique perspective in telling the story of a now silenced voice.
At one time, Chicago had a huge graffiti culture whose presence was felt all over the city. Graffiti was everywhere. In an attempt to stop this movement, the city launched a series of counter-attacks. When imprisoning these people didn’t stop them, the Graffiti Blasters were introduced. A fast acting clean-up force that quickly wiped out almost all the graffiti in Chicago. From a citywide art gallery, to being covered by coat after coat of brown paint.
But the battle still rages on”.

” More Mugshot Music Leaks “
The anticipation for Showbiz & AG’s “Mugshot Music” is at a all-time over here on the BATTLEFIELD….”Pre-loaded” was enough to hold me down, but the Bronx Bombers obviously have more heat in store for 2012..
On their latest “MM” leak, the duo get a little assistance from OC….I could of done without the singing on the hook (one of my Hip Hop pet peeves), but the flavor still shines through….
” Apache Line “
Remember when I told ya’ll that I had a few surprises up my sleeves for 2012….
1..Production placement on SPIT GEMZ project WELCOME TO HELLZ GATE ,”Sinister Grin” featuring J-Love, Stalker, and Shaz Ill York….Go track that down if you haven’t heard it yet…
2…I also told you cats about a project I’m working on with a full fledged NYC hardcore Hip Hop general……We have been working around the clock to finish mixing everything down, and it is sounding monstrous to say the least…
We are extremely close to wrapping everything up so brace yourself for it’s release within a couple months…..We will be pressing up vinyl as well – so make sure to keep your motherfucking eyes peeled trooper…
3…2012 Production placement on a few other projects, but I didn’t really “FEEL” the finished songs so I’m not going to even unveil that shit…Go track them down if you can….HAHA..
4…Before 2012 comes to a close “EVERY POSSE GET FLAT 3.0.” will be launching from Hip Hop Battlefield…..On the first version (you can download it on the right sidebar of the blog) I got a strong response so I decided to dig in some of my dirtiest crates for another dose of LIVE SHIT…..
Big up to everyone that has rocked with me for 4 plus years…All of your opinions, comments, are appreciated…
Now that I got that out of the way – here is the trailer for POPMASTER FABEL’S unreleased documentary “From Gangs To Hip Hop”….He has been working on this heavy over the years and it looks like a monumental piece of gang culture history….
CHECK IN….
