” Comedy Relief “
Are you tired of these cornball DJ’s stinking up the dancefloor with their off-beat blends, ill advised selections, etc ?
Then ANGRY DJ.COM is the spot for you homeboy (some of their pieces are on the corny side, but the point is made loud and clear haha)..
” Maestro Fresh Wes Wreck “
Recently I was watching one of those new age rap battles for personal amusement (yeah the ones where dudes rhyme with no beats underneath them on some WWF shit)….
I must admit, some of these cats are hilarious, while others would sound terrible if they ever stepped in the booth…Anyway, before one of these battles started one of the ANNOUNCERS declared that YOUR boy Drake was in attendance (why I don’t know, he couldn’t slay anyone but himself on the mic)..
Suddenly I caught a glimpse of MAESTRO FRESH WES next to YOUR boy Drizzy….Unfortanately the ANNOUNCER was to busy riding Drakes nuts to even bother mentioning that the Toronto legend (Wes) was in the motherfucking house (shameful in my opinion)….
After that incident I started “flashbacking” to a time when I believed MAESTRO was going neck and neck with some of the freshest MC’s of the early 90’s….For some strange reason cats don’t bring his name him up as often as they should…..
His first three albums are flooded with nonstop dangerous punchlines…
” If your names on my roster it’s going to cost ya / bury motherfuckers alive like a Chicago mobster “…….
On one of my favorite joints from the Black Tie Affair album is “VIP’s Only” featuring K-Force…He totally goes for broke with an avalanche of razor sharp bars……
While vacationing in Canada a few years back I spotted Wes on a soap opera to my surprise….After doing some research I also found out that he has developed a heavy acting resume (he even has his own star on the Canadian Walk of Fame)….
SALUTE.
” Noreaga Speaks “
P.A.P.I AKA Noreaga stops by the Combat Jack radio show for a in-depth interview session that you should check…
” This week, we welcome the Super Thug aka N.O.R.E. and get to the bottom of the long standing “beef” between P.A.P.I. and “super attorney” Reggie Ossé. Noreaga speaks on his history with Mobb Deep, Notorious B.I.G., Tragedy, Capone, Chris Lighty and other rap luminaries. Plus, Nore tells us about his trip to the fat farm to visit the late, great Big Pun. Get ready for Combat “!!!
” Roughneck Business “
Are you fully prepared for a round of head crushing rudeboy tunes ?
SENTINEL Volume.1 – (Harcore Selection) will force you to wave your trigger finger in the air and lick off a couple….Start your Saturday night off lovely by throwing this session in your system…
Over an hour of nonstop action…
” Saturday Funk Mode “
Last year Academy / Voodoo Funk joined forces to re-release the heavy “APOSTLES” 7inch…Originally only two copies were made, so it made perfect sense to spread this brand of explosive African heat to the masses…
Get your copy HERE….
*The open drum break on “Onye Akba” is just ridiculous…
” Attack Of The Killer Demos, 19 “
A few years back One Leg Up Records pressed up 200 copies of the Beat Nuts “Intoxicated Demos” project…This is a snapshot of classic material that was recorded from 1991-1993…
If you weren’t able to snatch up a vinyl copy when it dropped – here is your chance to check in trooper…
” Under The Radar : Black Marvel “
Yesterday I stumbled onto a mixtape by Wu-affiliate, BLACK MARVEL ( BM Ultra)……Some of the production on this project didn’t compliment his style, but there were a couple tracks that definitely caught my attention….
” Real Live Shit “
You know it’s going to be a good day when you get to hear a live set from the DITC underboss, LORD FINESSE….
Hurry up and download this before it reaches capacity trooper…
“If Lord Finesse was a baseball player he’d be in the Robert Hall of Fame for his Triple Crown record in hip-hop. Whether he’s on the microphone, drum machine, or turntables, you know he’ll be chasing that MVP crown. Last month The Underboss and Slice Of Spice hit Japan for the ‘Soundwave Tour’ where Finesse tore it up on the 1s and 2s. We recorded a live 2 hour set on 2.14.13 in Tokyo and as promised we’re sharing it with all his fans in two FREE DOWNLOAD installments. ENJOY!”
” Bronx Bombing “
I usually don’t post up “freestyles” of cats rhyming over previously released instrumentals, but I will make an exception for Eddie Cheeba from BOSS MONEY / MONEY BOSS PLAYERS…
You already heard Ghostface get busy over this track, now peep the BRONX BOMBING version…
” New Shit On Deck “
DEFARI’S newest offering the “Lost Tapes Of Ruby-D” definitely had it’s moments….If he is thinking about putting this on vinyl, I would rock these two songs as singles..
*Glad to see this Likwit Crew member still doing his thing..
” Homicide Rap “
Now this is more like it..
” Matter of fact take your ass to the back dog / or get your god damn mustache clapped off “….
Booze Brother, “CLEVER ONE” links up with former Tuff Crew DJ, “TOO TUFF” for some good old fashioned Philly monster rap on “Homicidal Rhymes”…
If your growing tired of listening to all these Hip Hop weasels whispering on tracks, take a listen to this new shit for a power boost….
” B-Boy Extreme “
Just when you think you have seen it all, these cats flip the script and keep the spirit of B-Boy innovation alive..
When I first watched this clip from the IBE 2012 sessions I almost lost my marbles..
Do yourself a favor and peep the illness..
